We have dined here several times over the years (and in fact booked a table here for this trip twice, a week apart). One of our very most favorite restaurants in the world! With such high expectations, Le Vivier could have been a disappointment. In fact, it was quite the opposite. The decor, always changing a bit, is still charming.... More

My husband and I went to Le Vivier last night to celebrate an anniversary. Wow! What an amazing experience we had from start to finish. The food was incredible but what really made it special was the service we received. The absolute best we have had in France. We were a little nervous about coming to such a nice place... More

I have been traveling in France for a week now & I believe this is one of the top restaurants I have been so far! It was excellent except the service as it was quite busy when we arrived

Unfortunately, the standard of this restaurant was very poor. Restaurants are service business no matter how great their food if they treat their customers without respect they should not stay open or at least learn how to treat their PAYING customers properly. I thought French people are nicer than New Yorkers but I was wrong, they are beyond rude!!! The... More

No matter what country you visit when you arrive into a restaurant it is incredibly rude to take out your meal and Soda from a Mc Donald bag and to start eating your junk at the table ! It is for the parents to educate their children ! More

Wow! I haven't stopped talking about this visit (visits) since I returned home from holiday. We were lucky enough to experience dinner and lunch at Le Vivier and they were both amazing experiences. The food was better than we've experienced at Equivalent restaurants in the UK. The service was top class and nothing was too much bother - even putting... More

We expected the somewhat odd location: situated behind an unattractive building, but promisingly on a terrace overlooking a stream. Promising start, having settled down at our table and placed our order, but a gnat flew into one of our wine glasses. We mentioned very politely to the waiter what had happened, and asked him to kindly take care of it.... More

Food & Location. Great table overlooking the river. Creative and original food, while true to the regional roots. Adequate wine selection. Each plate was well executed and delicious, with a original gist on traditional flavors. The dessert are also worth the extra calories. High marks also for the service. If you have only one meal on isle sur sorgue this... More

We were a large group by French standard of 10 pax. The service was impeccable, the food was of high quality. Deserving of it's one Michelin star. Having eaten pigeon in many different restaurants, at Le Vivier, we had the best pigeon pie! The Foie gras was also perfect, it was smooth creamy and melts in the mouth. We had... More

This was a terrific find on the banks of the river Sorgue at l'Isle sur la Sorgue. As you drive up to an ugly 1980's complex about a kilometre down the road from the main village you cannot imagine the lovely restaurant behind it. The river setting is lovely and most outside tables which take full advantage of that water... More

As we ALWAYS do when we are in Provence, we arranged to visit the ultra-charming (and my wife and daughter tell me ultra-handsome!) owner Patrick Fischnaller and his wonderful team on the banks of the river Sorgue at l'Isle sur la Sorgue. As I have commented before, the ugly 1980's complex in which le Vivier sits should be ignored. The... More
