One thing I am extremely picky about is ribs. You know, the meat must be done just right, smoked well and that is all worthless unless the sauce is unique so that it embellishes the natural flavor of the ribs. I ordered a slab of spar ribs and a slab of rib tips. Both were cooked at to high a temp and for to short a time. Fatty and tough, with no smoke flavor or even a hint of smoke ring. It took 6 hours in the crockpot on high temp to render the fat down and make the slabs... More

Spoiled by the great BBQ of Kansas City, e.g. Oklahoma Joe's, Fiorella's Jack Stack and Arthur Bryant's, I am often disappointed by what passes for BBQ in the Omaha/Lincoln area. The boney box is a selection of end pieces and scraps of all the offerings--beef,pork ribs, links, brisket. Best French fries on the planet! Peach cobbler is a dream come true. The medium sauce is plenty spicy, can't imagine the hot! We drive 60 miles regularly just eat at Jim's!

I ordered the sliced beef (sandwich) combo. At $9.99 it was a little pricey for what you get. First of all, they use the wrong kind of bun for a BBQ sandwich. Jim's ribs are great. There really isn't a dining room, just some stools along a wall. Most people use the drive through.

Service and atmosphere lacking...but the ribs and cobbler were amazing. It's the kind of hole-in-the-wall place where you're ready to head right back out the door until your first bite.
