Grindavik is not a tourist hub but more of a way point. Salthusid is right in the middle and a great spot for dinner. Super fresh fish and chips and amazing fresh trout made for a great meal. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. A gem in an otherwise fairly typical fishing village.

Great local restaurant with superb fish on offer. The trout was excellent as was the breaded cod. Similar prices to Reykjavik despite being out of the city in Grindavik. If you're in Grindavik for a pre airport stay, recommend this restaurant.

Fish soup starter glorious, as was the oven-baked salmon and fish n chips. Free bottle of water on table (means a lot in Iceland!) and two portions of bread brought at no extra charge. They even cooked my salmon just a tad more for me and brought it back with fresh jacket potato. Good service :)

Looking for a place for dinner, and decided to come here! Not many places for dinner in Grindavik, either here or Lava. We had the fish of the day which was hailbut, and the salt cod. Both were good. We also had 500ml beers and paid ISK 9400 (about US$86) just to give you an idea of the prices! Went... More

Great atmosphere, food and service. Go here after the Blue Lagoon and get the fish of the day. Looks casual on the outside, but quite beautiful inside, so don't go with half of your silica mask stuck to your hair like we did :/

The Food in this restaurant was excellent. Its located in a quiet part of grindavik but is most definitely worth a visit. The staff are lovely and they even have a service where they will collect you from and drop you back to your hotel.

Stopped here while on vacation with friends. Pretty restaurant all done in pine, with a fireplace The waitress was friendly and helpful. My friends had a variety of burgers and I had the trout. All were scrumptious!

We stopped here for lunch as part of a group tour...what a find! This was simply an excellent place to enjoy fish and chips. My husband loves this meal; he has sampled this pretty much in every city or country that it has been offered. His verdict: one of the best fish batters and fish that he has ever come... More
