After the dreariness of Mass Ave the cheery red exterior of The Field beckons, and bearing in mind that you aren't in Ireland, the pub you find inside is passably Irish in feel. As a vegetarian I didn't find a lot of choices on the menu, and although not everything on the online menu was available on the day, my... More

I stopped in for dinner while in town for training. I tried the buffalo wings which is chancy for someone from buffalo. I had them medium and they had some pretty good kick to them. They were a spicy I haven't had before but very good. The burger was cooked perfectly and I had an excellent Irish whiskey to go... More

I was here to get a beer and showed my US military ID for age verification. The guy working here kept asking me for a US issued ID and I asked him what he meant. He told me that they do not accept Japanese Military ID. I don't know why he thought that way but they did not even apologize... More

Decent Irish bar. Pretty crowded on a Thursday night but fun atmosphere. Note that it is cash only, so come prepared! They had Carlsberg on tap, which is my favorite and I rarely see in Boston so that was a treat! Would come back.

An excellent go-to bar in Cambridge. Nice beer selection, about the same prices as everywhere in Cambridge. Friendly waitstaff. Awesome patio -- if the weather is at all nice, this is the best bar patio in Cambridge. Food is decent. Cash only. They don't blast the music, which is a major plus, and the bar has TVs but not so... More

Stopped in while waiting for a show to start next door at Improv Boston. We sat out back on the patio with the college crowd. I like the elevated bench seats. It was a casual, laid back summer night. The Field has a nice unpretentious vibe. Lots of laughter and people enjoying their food slowly around talking. The food was... More

A big bar with a friendly Galway owner (the Irish film with the same name was also filmed in the same county), lots of Galway and Cork signs and posters. Food is American but drinks include good Guinness and Murphy's. We went twice in our St Patrick's week visit to Boston and would go again! If you're on an Irish... More

Done up outside and in like an Irish pub. Guinness and Murphy's on tap, along with the usual suspects in bottles. A dart board, pool table and lots of soccer stuff. Pub grub. Nothing fancy. Like a thousand pubs in Dublin and Belfast. It would hold its own over there and is a nice change of pace here. Close to... More

Dropped in for lunch after a good hike from Harvard. Great Irish decor. I don't know how to describe the music - not Irish. Food was American - chilli cheese dog (very good) and tuna salad (very good). Good selection of domestic and imported beer. They do not accept credit cards (but there is an ATM in the back).

Absolutely the worst service ever. It took us over 10 minutes for our order to be taken. Over 30 minutes for our drinks to be brought, which were just 3 cans of Narragansett - how long does it take to bring over a can? It took 40 minutes for two sandwiches to be brought over, then another 10 minutes for... More
