Love this spot. Great location regardless of the weather. Looking out on the sculpture garden is a treat. The fried oysters are perfectly done and I enjoyed the shaksuka. Small, but inventive menu.

What a delightful surprise. My friends took me out for a nice dinner celebration after an event and they out did it. The restaurant is gorgeous, with beautiful specially made spacious marble tulip tables, stunning views, perfect service and superb food. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back.

Visited the museum with friends who were members and who highly recommended Amuse. We were indeed pleased with the food, service and ambiance. One of our foursome has spice issues, and the waiter was both knowledgeable and helpful with his order. I had the curried oysters to start (they're enough for two!) and the wagyu beef, and my companions had... More

We had only planned on spending the morning at the museum but once we got there, we ended up spending the day. We did not have reservations so we did not get a window table but our view was still delightful, since half of the walls of the restaurant are full glass panels providing a view of the exterior. The... More

We eat here 3-4 tines a year, usually after a lecture next door at VHS or visiting VMFA. They are open for dinner on Thurs/Frids only and that is our preferred time to dine here. Lunch is also served but often packed then. The room looks across the rear grounds of the VMFA toward the old UDC building. Large windows... More

I have mixed feelings. There was good and bad. I'll start with good. We had a group of 10, and they allowed us to have separate checks with no problem. The wine selection is good and you get a generous pour. Mine was $13 a glass. The food was good. The bread was fantastic. The waiter asked if we were... More

After spending a few hours in the museum, I decided to grab a light lunch before returning to the exhibits. It was after 1:00 p.m. however very crowded....fortunately there was an open spot at the bar! I started with a chilled glass of Pinot Gris - a very generous pour and then chose the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake with asparagus... More

Before plunging into the terrific museum, I fortified myself at the restaurant on the top floor. Surrounded by ladies that lunch, the food, wine, and service were all very good. Large windows look out onto the law with Henry Moore statutes and small children playing in the grass. A mellow start.

I very rarely post a bad review, however, I find it necessary to do so now. We were visiting our daughter in Richmond, Va and she had made reservations at Amuse. Being a vegan, she had called ahead and she was assured they had many vegan options for her. When we arrived and began ordering, they basically only had a... More

Amuse is in the Viriginia Museum of Fine Arts and is a delightful surprise. It's not very large, but has windows along one whole side of the restaurant. In spring, the view is wonderful because you can see the lawns and trees outside (down below - the restaurant is on the second floor). The food is excellent, as is the... More
