I say that because it was very crowded, but we were seated immediately in the front near the window. A friend of mine from Richmond first took me to this place several years ago. This visit was myself & my husband. He had a crab cake sandwich & I had the chicken salad sandwich which I asked if they would... More

Excellent. When we arrived, shortly after the VCU graduation, the place was only about half full. It got busier as we were winding down but the waitress and staff were super attentive and helpful. They even assembled a graduation dessert surprise for my sister. The food was excellent-not a sour note on the table. Fried chicken, mac n cheese, and... More

The food was good, but not great. My husband thought the chicken pot pie was too thick. The salad bar was great, but the hot breakfast items were hit or miss (i.e. biscuits burned). Also, the salad bar was up kind of high, and it was difficult to even see what was in some of the containers, especially if they... More

Every trip to Richmond, I try to include a brunch at Strawberry Street Cafe. I love this local eatery! The food is fresh and delicious. The choice of buffet or menu is available. The buffet has hot breakfast selections, pastries and a full salad and vegetable bar. Sometimes the wait can be more than thirty minutes, but a conversation with... More

If you can find a place to park (restaurant is located in a dense city residential area), this place is really worth it. Known for its bathtub salad bar seen when you first enter, their menu has so many good choices. My wife and I came on a Tuesday around 6 PM. We had put in a reservation, but seating... More

We were in town for to VA garden week house tours and this nearby restaurant was recommended. Staff was pleasant and cheerful, but there were only 3 servers working, and there was a wait for a table at 2 p.m. salad bar was OK. Homemade Hummus was good. Crab cake mediocre. Nice ambiance with original art and a neat big... More

Whenever I visit Richmond, this is my first stop. I love the soup and salad bar. The menu in general and the daily specials offer so many options. The food is great. The service is excellent. Nice, quaint atmosphere. Reasonably priced. What's not to love. Worth a stop.

Great first visit to this iconic RVA establishment! We booked through OpenTable so were seated quickly at 11am on a Sunday. By the time we left there was a line of people waiting. Parking looks like it could be a challenge. We were extremely fortunate to get a street spot right in front. Not sure where else you can park...... More

We were promptly seated for our 1pm reservation but not it took 10 minutes for table service Food was good but not exceptional. My crab soup was good and a large serving. Sweet potato fries nice and crispy. Breakfast burrito was large and tasty. Maybe a score of 4 is more appropriate. At least 3.5.

Here at Strawberry Street Cafe, we have been providing great food and service in an inviting, casual atmosphere since 1976. Located in the Historic Fan District, we are only about a ten minute drive from the Landmark Theatre and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What we are best known for is our famous salad bar, which is actually situated in an old-fashioned bathtub and filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, prepared salads and homemade soups. The menu includes such specialties as Maryland Crabcakes, Pasta Jambalaya, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, and Spinach Lasagna.
