You will not find a better Ethiopian meal on the planet. I have been eating at this establishment for over 10 years and they have never failed me yet! Fresh meals prepared while you enjoy a bright beautiful dining area. They just recently moved to this location but the classic taste of the Nile is still the same. I drive... More

Absolutely excellent food, friendly and helpful service--and they've done beautiful things with the space. You really can't go wrong with the many options for food--and you can order injera bread to take home for additional meals. Can't recommend it highly enough--this deserves to be a favorite around Richmond.

I LOVE Nile. It just opened up around the corner from us and I couldn't be happier. Their Injera is the stuff of dreams. Everything is perfectly spiced, creating warmth without too much heat. The food is high quality, nutritious, and beautiful. Also tons of options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Wonderful job guys! Keep it up!

We have been waiting months for your new place to open, so that we could indulge in the wonderful foods that you create (306 North 29th Street Richmond, VA 23223). It was well worth the wait!!!! The food was even better than I remembered. Thank you!! WE will certainly be making the hour drive to visit you again very soon.

I went there with my boss one Friday evening and they have a great assortment of beer and wine. The food is good but I highly recommend the pork and lentils. They are awesome!!!!

Went with vegetarian and vegan friends - they liked it. Some menu items sounded too spicy for me . The lentil soup, green beans, collards, cabbage, meat plate were tasty. Generous dessert servings and delicious coffee. We ate on the deck overlooking Cary Street on a warm evening.

The place is nice, the service was good at the bar. It was a cold day so do not sit near the door as it stay open and does not close right away. The food was good and different. I had a vegan meal and they have multiple dishes to choice form and a lot for non-vegan people.

We went to the Portait House for Pizza and they are now the Nile. So we had some drinks and then decided to have appetizers. We tried Sambossas for the first time. They were delicious. We had the beef & the Lentil. I will definitely go back.

After something like, 12 years or so, the Nile Cafe has closed. No information as to why. This used to be the only restaurant in the VCU/ The Fan area to find Ethiopian food. After dinner hours were often set aside for live events. My experience there was always positive. The owners and staff were mostly all friendly and positive.Something... More

My wife and I took a friend to dinner here on a Saturday night. The food was very good, but the service was slow and really lacking. We'd made a reservation which turned out to be pointless because it was not honored. We had to ask multiple times for drink menus and appetizers never showed up even after repeated requests....
