We had the most amazing dinner…an amazing appetizer of stuffed zucchini blossoms, beautiful salads and the steak..which we shared was perfection…dessert sublime…a beautiful Sagrantino wine! What a beautiful evening, thank you!

We chose Ristorante Il Coccorone for our weekly Umbrian lunch visit. We were very pleased with the experience and especially the food. The coperto is correct (3 Euro per person) with an assortment of breads that were very tasty. I had the Pappardelle al Sagrantino,...which was very hearty. My wife had the Bistecca which was made to perfection. With the assortment of salts along with the pepper it was something even I could eat and want more of (I'm not one to eat beef). Contorno included patate brace and cicoria. The dessert was a crostata with figs that was arguably the best crostata I've ever had. It was made in house and just melted in your mouth. The half liter caraffe of wine was also appropriately priced (6 Euro) and was a very good red wine paired with both dishes. Overall, I would not only recommend dining here to anyone but would also come back to try other dishes. Lastly, the staff was very professional, friendly, and attentive.More

The restaurant is located in the centre of Montefalco on the first floor of an old building. The staff is very friendly. We had lunch so we didn't enjoy the renown grilled meats unfortunately as it was too hot for that. We had a very...good meal with tuscan starters and pasta. Nice selection of (Montefalco) wines.More

We found this place almost by accident and wondered in for lunch. It was so good we went back for dinner. The place is lovely, the service is perfection, and the food is great. At lunch we had a great artichoke parmigiana. At dinner we...had grilled Umbrian beef and roasted lamb. The wines with both meals were local and delicious--a Trebbiano Spoletino and a Montefalco Sagrantino. Highly recommend this place.More

Visiting the beautiful historic town of Montefalco is enjoyable in itself, however, coupled with a visit to this gem of a restaurant, Coccorone, will make it memorable. The restaurant has a beautiful decor and serene ambiance, the staff are courteous and polite and very well...organised. Then there is the food which is absolutely exceptional. All ingredients are fresh and cooked to perfection. I started with the prosciutto antipasto which definitely whet my appetite. This was followed by a delicious tartufo linguini pasta and for the main course a mouth-watering steak cooked on an open fore with traditional Sagrantino sauce. A local Montefalco rosso wine proved to be the perfect pairing. A truly enjoyable gastronomic experience.More

Traditional cooking with elegant surroundings... we just adore this wonderful restaurant. The staff are so helpful and take a real pride in what they do. Happy to accommodate our quirky English way of eating... pasta and steak at the same time with truffle yum yum...😋 great wine recommendations and puddings not to be missed. We are here 3 times during our holiday and wished it could be more but we were a little to far away. We already planning our next trip so we can visit again. Buon AppetitoMore

It is always worth walking up hill in Montefalco to get to Coccorone even if the temperature approaches 100 degrees Fahrenheit. While the beautiful terrace is not exciting in that kind of heat, the air conditioned interior is lovely in Tuscan colors with original art...on the walls. You come to eat and eat well, starters of anchovies with butter and crisp baguette, stuffed zucchini blossoms melted in the mouth to be followed by an excellent white lasagne with eggplant. And sausage or a trio of grilled lamb chops that were devoured to the bare bone. Dessert was cheesecake with passion fruit sauce very refreshing on a hot day. Walter and Romina make you feel welcome and valued with superb service. They will explain any menu option. The speciality is bisteake ala Florentina on the grill, but while I dearly love red meat cooked very rare it was just too hot .More

I can’t fault the starters, nor the service, both excellent, the steak they sang praises for looked delicious too, (but we didn’t order that- perhaps that was our mistake.) The only two issues we had were undercooked chicken and under cooked guinea fowl, both bleeding...when cut open. I accept, easy mistake to make, but perhaps don’t put it on the menu if you’re not sure how to cook it. We sent the chicken back, even though we hate sending food back just as much as the waiter hates taking it back. He apologised, we apologised, it was all a bit disappointing for everyone involved. We were fully charged for it by the end though, nothing was removed from the bill, fair enough if that’s how they do things there. However I truly recommend the pappardelle alla sagrantina, the courgette flower parmigiana, the fagotino and the side dishes. Perhaps just don’t veer away from the restaurant’s recommendations?More

Lovely restaurant known for its beef. We ignored the advice of the waiter and wished we had had the special beef ( we had the lamb chops that were disappointing). However, the homemade papardelle with mushrooms was amazing as was the local bottle of wine....Would love to return on a warm day and eat the beef outside! Still a lovely lunch.More
