We came here during our stay in Benahavis and had a really nice evening. The waiters are all charming and the owner drew a portrait of my husband on our bill! The food was well presented and very delicious. Three of our party had Suckling Pig and the other had leg of lamb. The pork was so tender and really... More

We've been eating at "Escalera" for years and we absolutely love its cuisine! Manolo forever! My favorite dish appears to be duck magret in blackberry or orange sauce and "chuletillos de cordero". But what I like most are the amazing ox tails that dissolve in your mouth!

We have been to La Escalera several times and the experience has always been great. The food and service are both great and the owner a great character. I was even allowed to entertain the diners with his guitar on one occasion which seemed to go down very well indeed! You can't go wrong with this place. Informal, non-pretentious dining... More

With the cool evening, it was wonderful to stand for a brief moment by the wood burner in the entrance before getting to our table. I had the soup of the day, which was lentil, would suggest that the vegetarians amongst you need to check with the staff before ordering as this had chorizo and black pudding in it. There... More

This is so unusual, to find somewhere that you feel right at home in, as though it is your favourite restaurant for all your special occasions - it was our first night in Benahavis, a beautiful mountain village, after a really long drive , and we just happened to walk into this restaurant. There were two birthday celebrations during the... More

Had dinner here as a family in March 2016. Only negative point would be the steep flight of stairs to enter it. That said, its superb! The staff are extremely polite and very attentive. Very Spanish surroundings. All of our meals were superb but the sea bream was out of this world. We actually told our waiter that it was... More

Stumbled across this place while hungry in Benahavis. There were 4 of us, all found our food delicious. The service was truly excellent, with the waiters taking a real interest in us and very happy to explain the menu options. My sister described her fish dish as the nicest dish she had ever eaten in Spain.

We had an amazing meal at this restaurant. We visited for a friends birthday and the staff could not have been more helpful. They made us feel very special and the food was great. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Benahavis

Had lunch here today (Sunday). We were a group of 11 with no booking but they quickly accommodated us comfortably. The restaurant wasn't full of people but I think that's down to the weather. Restaurant was warm and cosy and had a good atmosphere. We ordered our starters and mains which came reasonably quickly. Omg how tasty! The steak de... More
