The crab fritter and duck never disappoints. Service always consistent. For special occasions try supplemental caviar service!

I had expectations of perfectly executed dishes, but had several disappointments. Firstly, why would you ask if there are any food allergies, then serve multiple plates with said allergen? Secondly, the timing was terrible. Our bread came 30 seconds before our first course, but we...were waiting with nothing on the table for half an hour previous. Drinks that were meant to be accompanied with meals were never served with them, and the wait between courses was extremely long. I would be more understanding if the restaurant was full and servers were running around like madmen, but the general vibe was lax, with no sense of urgency. Speaking of the drinks, we ordered a couple of classic cocktails - a Sazerac for me, and my wife had a Brandy Alexander with dessert. Neither of which were made by anyone who had made them before - it was obviously that these were Googled recipes, and muddled through. I would have much preferred they tall me that they couldn't make them, and we would have ordered something more to the caliber of the bartender. Skipping ahead to dessert, my wife had the Muscadine, which was akin to cheesecake that had been left in the fridge uncovered for a week to dry out, then covered with a bunch of wet things to cover up the fact. The worst part was the gelatin bits - they were completely out of place for taste and texturally. The most egregious complaint comes with my meal - the lamb. As soon as it was presented, I knew it was beef. Lamb doesn't sear the same, smell the same, or taste the same. When we asked our server what cut it was, he stated lamb loin, (which I have cooked dozens of times at home), and that it was sourced from New York. Funny guy, being that I was served New York Strip. To be fair, it was cooked perfectly, and very tasty, but I ordered lamb. The one real high point was the cheese course - I had the red cow parm, and my wife had something with a french name. They were both creative, beautiful, flavorful, textural, and perfectly proportioned. If the entire meal was on that level, this review would have gone quite differently, and it would be obvious why they have Michelin Stars... unfortunately that was not our experience.More
The food, wine and service were great, but it was so cold, it crept up on me through the meal, until dessert when I was warming my hands on my soufflé. Other dinners didn’t seem to mind but my wife and I had to hurry...to leave - just so cold.More
Everything was just perfect!! The food was DELICIOUS! Each piece was so flavorful. The service was great. I really can’t say enough. It’s not just dinner it’s an experience.
The highlight of this year trip . Staff were very friendly Food was AMAZING ! Everything was on point. The over all atmosphere was nice.
We had a wonderful dinner at Bacchanalia last night. The flavors and presentation were amazing. We look forward to visiting again soon.
We had a very lackluster meal. It was small plates with about 4 choices for each part of the dinner. My brother had raved about this restaurant being so great. He knows the woman who owns it & has dined there several times in the...past. He said they moved since he was last there & was disappointed in the food. We only ordered 2 bottles of wine & somehow the sommelier sneaked a third in when we were not paying attention. My brother did not take it up w/ the restaurant, just let it go. Wines were quite expensive. We think he may have spent $1,000 on the meal for 5. He said he would not be returning.More
We do a lot of fine dining and were excited to finally go to Bacchnalia in Atlanta. Rarely write a bad review. Got tasting menu - first course (steak tartare and crab fritter) were prepared well and had good pairings. My second course (lobster) was...overdone and rubbery. Third course of cheeses was really just bizarre, Would have been happier with some plain interesting cheeses, but they put toppings on that messed with the texture and the taste, didn’t eat it. Decided to skip 4th course and leave. Hope it was just our seat but it smelled like sewer gas throughout dinner. Happily they only charged us for the wine since we were dissatisfied but I would much rather have had the dining experience we were looking forward to.More
We dined on a Friday evening with some friends who we had not seen in a while, It had been an even longer while since we have been to Bacchanalia, in fact they are in a different location and a new building. It has self...parking in a lovely open lot on premise and the decor is modern and tasteful. The four course menu has plenty of variety and the wine list is more than adequate to the task of matching the menu. We were seated in a curtained off private area and the privacy and noise level were bonuses. My crab fritter with its citrus based sauce was terrific as too was the lamb. Everybody seemed happy with their food and the pace of the meal was perfect. Service was excellent and the experience an excellent one. We must not leave it so long before returning.More
All in all we were happy but did notice a slip in service, probably due to staff shortages. Service was a bit slow on a midweek night. Several wines were not available due to "supply chain logistics"? Hmmm. The food was good and we were...served some complimentary sharing plates that were all excellent. Having been here several times before we understand the challenges of staffing but never felt this way before. We will be back and hope the service is better.More
I haven't been to Bacchanalia in a few years and always loved it in the past. Sadly I was disappointed by this experience. Food was good but not anywhere near what it used to be. Service was poor, rude, uncaring, horrible for what they charge....The experience felt like a factory mass producing food and getting you out as fast as possible so they could rip off the next guest. I am sad to write this poor review but it is sincere. $400+ for 2-people with limited wine.More
Absolutely amazing meal. Four prix fixe courses of simply perfect preparation, presentation and flavor. Definitely choose the wine pairing for each course.
Chilly service with attitude from people who act like they are Buckhead offspring instead of servers. But whatever. Food was ordinary. Nothing spectacular. We ate at Aria the evening before and the food was just as good and the service MUCH better. It's been a...couple of years since we had been here, and we won't return any time soon.More
Wonderful restaurant for a special occasion or romantic dinner. The food is a work of art and delicious with great presentation. Yes, it is pricy, but it is a unique dining experience. The service is great and not pretentious. The location and setting is perfect....My only complaint was the chairs in the dining room. They were not very comfortable for a long dinner service. Otherwise, top notch.More
I believe I have reviewed this restaurant a couple of times and for me its place to go there and eat during special occasions. I took my friend for her birthday celebration and it was her first time at this establishment. And let me just...say she was so impressed by the food but the customer service was on another level. I have always believed people will always come back if the service is great. I had the chance to actually order for her and we went with four course menus. For the lady, first course Maine Lobster, which was super delicious, second course, third course scallops, local greens and for the dessert summerland farm blackberry. For myself I had Foie Gras Torchon, Lamb Loin which was amazing, chevre and chocolate for dessert. I love good food, but I also believe delicious things come in small packages. I grew up in Sweden where we eat small but also enjoy eating our small portion. I promise this its so much food that when you are done, I was so full that we just wanted to go and sleep. I would for sure recommend this establishment not only for good food but I truly believe in supporting our local restaurant and people who work there. Cheers Bacchanalia for an amazing birthday party. BNMore
