We visited on a Friday for a late lunch. Service was pretty slow. We started with the artichoke dip. The chips and dip were very good. The pizza was ok. The wine list was respectable for a brewery.

We went on a Sunday night at 8:30 and we were seated right away. The service was good. The food was very good and prices reasonable for this area of Atlanta. The staff worked as a team, since our waitress had a few tables at the other end of the restaurant. The beer selections are massive, although I'm not a... More

Great brew, great food and a great vibe, need I say more??? A place where locals and tourists converge. This was my third time at Max's and felt I had to talk this place up though I am sure they have plenty of great reviews... On this visit I kept it simple; I had 2 beer flights/tastings, JR’S Smoked Firecracker... More

This restaurant was recommended by the front staff at our hotel. There were three of us. Two of us had burgers and one had the grilled chicken breast sandwich. The burgers were awesome and the fries very good. We went back the next day and had the chicken flat bread which was also good and I had a caesar salad... More

Had a nice time, small mix up with open table reservation, but they found us a table. Service was good, we spilt the fried chicken which was good. Nice evening out. Have fun

The beer selection touted by then menu sounded more impressive than it really was. There were only six brews that were actually made on site, all others were bottles from other places. While I love they had so many craft brews, I really was hoping for a more diverse local tap menu. The wood-fired pizzas were good. The cheese bread... More

This is my type of place - A cool looking spot with a great, diverse food menu and an even better beer list. My husband and I visited with a second couple on a busy Sunday evening. We had reservations, so we were seated promptly. Our drink order was taken almost immediately, but it took 35 minutes for those drinks... More

My husband and I were very impressed with the food and service we received tonight, especially with the fact there were 22 of us and more than half of those were teenagers. The entire staff at the restaurant handled our crowd very nicely. Most restaurants do not like and even won't take that many teens but Max Lager was wonderful.... More

Three of us reckoned we'd stop in for a quick beer on the walk home. About 10pm. Not sure I've ever waited longer for a beer. Lots of staff walking around but they seemed to be maxed out with one or two tables each. Pace. Was. Slow. Beer was fine. Beer glasses were cool.

In town for business and went out with group of 9 in party. Hour wait but it was Friday night. Spent the hour in bar with just adequate service. A table of eight was seated before us because they forgot us. Ended up waiting an hour and a half to be seated. Hostess staff did not seem to care that... More

Max Lager's was one of the first restaurants to bring the fresh and natural wood-fired menu concept to Atlanta. The art of cooking with wood enhances the Max Lager's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. We feel that the investment made in the wood-fired grill pays great dividends to our guests. All Max Lager's menu items are prepared daily from scratch. Wood-fired steaks, burgers, seafood, ribs, and pizza are Max Lager's signature items. An inspired selection of entree salads and pastas add variety to the American menu. Max Lager's is the oldest brewpub in Georgia, opening in March 1998. Many of Max Lager's house brewed beers have won major awards including two awards at the Great American Beer Festival in Colorado. Max Lager's offers a full bar, wines, local and national craft beers, with a 32 tap draft system in our upstairs bar highlighting a selection of the best craft beers. If you are looking flavorful food and drinks in a warm and inviting atmosphere - Max Lager's is the place to be! Cheers.
