Great ambience, busy and bustling. Attentive and friendly serving staff. Prompt service but food disappointing and did not meet expectations. I ordered the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake - not really a 'cake'/patty; just loosely cohesive, underseasoned crab meat sitting on undercooked cubes of greasy potatoes...More

Excellent meals. Fried chicken, boor with pasta, trout -- starters were fried green tomatoes (added creaminess with goat cheese) and pimento cheese with home-made fennel crackers. Nice selections of beers and signature cocktails (thyme-infused, whiskey sour). Wait staff was extremely knowledgeable. Nice walk from Artmore...More

Food and service were good, seating is a trifle tight, and it gets crowded (so no one goes there any more). This is basic food done right, I would say, nothing fancy schmancy, in an interesting setting (older house). They cannot serve alcohol on Sunday...More

Our service was excellent. We went with 2 classics (Chicken & Shrimp & Grits) and 2 specials. All four were very well done - good portion size, great taste. Biscuits & corn muffins would bring me back alone! Will not hesitate to go back.

I was on the lookout for some yummy southern food and did I find it. After numerous online searches I settled on this place. I was seated at the bar and was helped by Kelly. She somehow read my mind on everything I wanted. She...More

My department had our Annual Christmas Luncheon here. This was my first visit and I was very impressed. The appetizers and the entrees were delicious. Some of the best Collard Greens and Fried Chicken. Also the Shrimp and Geechee Boy Grits were a hit. I...More

Traveling with a large party who all need separate checks is always a little tricky so when a restaurant handles that well, I'm always happy. It's a cute place with very good Southern-style cuisine. We were here for brunch so I opted for eggs, bacon,...More

$20 for a single piece of fried chicken and about 1 portion size total broken up between mashed potatos and greens. Honestly, the food was OK at best but i feel like it's wicked over priced. Two nights ago, I went to gus's fried chicken...More

We had a fabulous dinner with excellent service, delicious regional food. The waiter suggested based on our preferences and added to it even further. Great IPA beer and perfectly mixed cocktails.

I don’t believe there is a private room. The restaurant is lively and can be loud.

Celebrating over 18 year as one of Atlanta's favorite restaurants, South City Kitchen Midtown specializes in contemporary Southern cuisine with a sophisticated twist. Combining the energy of Atlanta with the warmth of a Southern home, the restaurant is nestled in an updated, historic bungalow on the city's famous Crescent Avenue. Dine on local Southern favorites such as shrimp and grits, buttermilk fried chicken, she-crab soup, fried green tomatoes and banana pudding while enjoying the view of our exhibition kitchen or the city skyline on one of the best patios in the city. This truly is dining the way the new South intended.
