Expensive without the slightest justification. In simple terms,in a general European context,a whole pile of overpriced nonsense.,.

Small but immaculate restaurant, delicious food made with often modest, rural ingredients - e.g. rabbit with garlic. The best of true country cooking. Almost too much choice. Seems to be a family run place - sorry we only went once! A highlight amongst places to eat in las alpujarras. Well worth a visit and good value with wonderful views from... More

Delicious country food in a rustic inn at the top of the village. Popular with locals and tourist hikers alike. We went three times and they kept up the high standard. Grilled meats particularly good!

I went to Meson La Fragua twice during my stay in Trevelez, and you can find several good choices on the menu. I can recommend the grilled pork meat known as the Iberian secret. Extremely tasty and juicy. The prices are quite fair, both the dishes and the wine. A bottle of red house wine is about 8 euros.

Had a lovely relaxing lunch here, service was very friendly and helpful. If you can, eat upstairs where there is a view right down the hills. The windows open fully if you wish on a hot day. Much recommended.

This restaurant has great views, an extensive 'meat driven' menu, great food, an excellent selection of wines and fantastically friendly and helpful service. We ate here on the 2 nights we were in Trevelez as we had to try other options on the menu after the first meal. The 'secreta' pork was particularly memorable.

We had the sausage and oxtail. It was delicious. They had outside seating, and although not a great view, it felt like it was part of the town.

It is worth the walk up from the bus stop. I recommend the local garlic and almond soup which is cold but so delicious I had it 2 days running. As I don't eat meat it is a relief to find veggie dishes on the menu as they love their meat here. (In particular the hams which apparently have the... More

We came across the restaurant by accident when exploring barrio alto part of trevelez (much less touristy than barrio bajo). We were shown to an upstairs room with a stunning view. The service was relaxed, friendly and efficient and we enjoyed a well-prepared andalus meal. The stand-out items were Kid with Garlic, salted cod and stuffed aubergines. The puddings looked... More
