We enjoyed many evening meals at this delightful Cornish pub. The staff were very friendly and helpful; there was a good atmosphere throughout. The food was well cooked and well presented.

Three hikers staying nearby. Kitchen closed at 14.30, so sandwiches were offered. Three ham sandwiches and three halves of Rattler was £32.85, wow. Not a pleasant vibe from hosts or customers.

Well, interesting....... we don't shut our kitchen at 2.30.....so this 'expert level' reviewer has got the wrong venue. Judging by the many reviews you did that day of venues in Newquay, I'm assuming you mean the Plume of Feathers in Mitchell just outside Newquay. And on behalf of the Plume of Feathers I'd just like to say, despite you turning... More

Stopped at the Plume of Feathers during our SW Coastal Path walk. Quaint traditional pub, nice atmosphere. The food was extremely good, home cooked and plenty of it ! Nice pint of Peroni too

The Plume was my local for a while and unfortunately, lost its 'mojo' for ambiance and food over the last couple of years. However, the professional management of Roger and Helen and the excellent skills of their chef have rescued this delightful 'proper' pub and really transformed the atmosphere AND now has a great menu, with innovative choices, delicious specials... We came here twice for lunch. Nice pub, good menu, thoroughly enjoyed trout, mushroom risotto, pork loin. Huge portion of cheese and biscuits.

Returned today from a blustery but lovely days walk around Portscatho. Starting, by luck, at The Plume of Feathers. Superb Sunday roast with a tremendous selection of vegetables, beef cooked to perfection. Good children's menu, although ours plumped for the smaller roast option. A lovely friendly pub, lots of lovely chats and plenty of dogs to pat including our own,... More

We've visited the Plume a fair few times over the last few years but this is the first time we've stayed in the guest rooms. The rooms are beautifully furnished and clean with luxury towels, bedding etc. It was perfect for our 3 night stay. This visit was also the best in terms of service, food and atmosphere. Roger, Helen... More

We walked into Porthscatho in late January hoping to have an early quick supper and a short walk back to our base for an early night prior to good walk the next day....we left four hours later having had the best evening in an unknown pub for a long time, I should rather call The Plume of Feathers a traditional... Outstanding service in a lovely cosy environment. The perfect place to spend a cold February day. Great food and some of the best chips I've ever had. Plus very flexible and helpful as our kids wanted half a burger from the adult menu, which arrives as two mini burgers and brilliantly presented. Would highly recommend but make sure you book... After finding 'the hidden hut 'shut last week, we were delighted with the warm welcome we received at ' the plume of feathers' instead. The owner was helpful, finding us a high chair for our grandson, and the food was delicious and sensibly priced. Two of us had the fishcakes with spinach and poached eggs and my husband had macoroni... More

Description
The Plume of Feathers is a 17th century traditional Cornish coastal pub, offering hand pull beers and great food. On May 1st 2016 we opened our 5 en-suite B&B rooms above the Plume, the rooms are beautifully appointed and the convenience of being in the center of Portscatho is a great base to discover the Roseland. Colin & Paul Marriott, yes twins, you're not seeing double, took over the Plume from Graham Thomas in October 2013 after Grahams mighty 35 year reign and are indebted to him for his grace and support. His legacy of a friendly welcoming pub continues to be paramount.
