This place dishes up very high quality Chinese and Malaysian dishes. Szechuan peppercorns are used to just the right degree, alongside quality pieces of meat. My party ordered five different dishes and they were nicely distinct from each other: entirely different flavor profiles. Judicious use of oil. I was apprehensive because I read some of the negative reviews on trip... More

It's going to be hard to do Sea Dragon justice, but let's just say I had no idea that we would find such well-prepared, fresh, authentic and *not greasy* Chinese food in Kaitaia. We came here on date night and after reading what I can only assume are unfair reviews, kept our expectations modest. What a surprise - and a... More

We have been as a couple for a Chinese New Year lunch, we have also visited with large groups on club outings. Always the food is hot and tasty, the service polite and prompt, the prices good, the ambiance good. We have also used their takeaway services which are good too.

I had heard and read mixed reviews about the sea dragon so I decided to try it for myself, we chicken fried rice, chicken chow mien and sweet and sour fish, we were offered a $30 pack that was nothing like what we ordered but they offered to change the steak chow mien to chicken to match our order and... My partner and I drove past this restaurant at around 10pm and got some hot healthy late dinner at this place in July this year. We were coming back from Cape Reinga and we were starving and had been driving for ages. We didn't want oily or fatty food like KFC so we decided to get dinner at this place.... More

Had dinner at the restaurant. The food was very mediocre. We had hot and sour soup, stir fried beef and various other dishes. With the limited options in Kaitaia this restaurant is an obvious choice. You might do better to head down to the sushi takeaway!

This restaurant has been recently renovated and its decor is well in keeping with its theme. Most appealing. Spacious and can seat large groups. The owner very friendly, great P.R. and very helpful.. The meal was absolutely amazing. Beautifully cooked . Four dishes among five of us for lunch and more than enough. Thoroughly recommend and will return.
