If you don't care for a loud dining experience, don't go here. There are bands playing in the bar and the dining room. The food was nothing special, very average Mexican fare. I went here for the gluten free menu, which had a a decent selection. The service was incredibly slow and I ordered a guacamole salad which never arrived... More

We go to this restaurant every time we are in Albuquerque. It is great to take family. Last year we had our littlest family member and she was dancing with the Mariachi band. The food is just good classic Mexican. It has the best salsa that I know of in town and their house margarita is just right. Fairly good... More

I was in Albuquerque for business and in the mood for New Mexican food (really different than Traditional Mexican food). I saw a great review for this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The food was excellent and the wait staff were very attentive. I went on a Friday night and there was wonderful live music. The atmosphere... More

The menus includes all the New Mexican classics, including calabacitas (squash and corn) as an alternative to the usual rice and beans and a nice green chile stew, plus many Mexican standards, rarely offered northern New Mexico lamb dishes, vegetarian and vegan alternatives, and occasional specials, some of them a surprise. The food varies from standard/good (like most New Mexican... More

Loved the corn tortillas slightly crispy, the meat was very tasty and of good quality. The chips thin crispy and warm; the salsa full of smokey flavors and mild 😀 Great atmosphere on Friday evenings and happy hour from 3pm to close. In addition to beer and margaritas, they also serve a few wines. The service was excellent !!

I went here with 5 other friends for lunch and it was nice to be able to select from reasonable lunch specials (around $10) or a seniors specials (around $8). The chips and salsa was good and not too spicy. I had the senior's cheese enchiladas special which was decent and not exceptional. The best part was the $2 chocolate... More

We hadn't planned to go to El Patron, but so glad we did. We beat the dinner rush just a bit so we given a table right away. The first thing you notice is the great decor and the great music from the mariachi two-some. Close your eyes and you're in Mexico. After a margarita and appetizer we chose the... More

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary and went out to dinner at El Patron. It was my wife's request because she loves the green chili chicken lasagna. I choose the steak tacos and they did not disappoint. During our dining experience they had a mariachi performing which made it that much better. I highly recommend El Patron, you... More

We went to El Patron as part of a large (15) person family group. We had reservations for 6:30 and were seated close to that time. So far so good. We were put in a back room where we had privacy, a nice touch. Unfortunately after 2 hours of waiting for our meals and our single waiter who was also... More

The wait staff was very friendly, prompt and although a Friday night seemed unrushed. The restaurant has adequate parking and is easy to find. It is clean and has good atmosphere. I would say the food is average to slightly above average New Mexican.
