I always go to Mr. Powdrells everytime I go to Albuquerque. I have been and lived all over the south and this place has the best and authentic southern cooking. The catfish is to die for, the cornbread excellent and the BBQ ribs will make you want to live there. If that wasn't enough, there is cobbler and ice cream... More

Been going here since 1974 (since old location on San Pedro). Best BBQ out there, and not just in NM. Great menu with everything from fried catfish, and chicken fried steak to delicious and succulent BBQ. Be sure to get a side of coleslaw, it takes just like my grandma's!

Had a craving for good Texas style chili and cornbread bread. They did it. The chili is not on the menu, but they pulled it off. The owner is friendly and entertaining. It was the best hole in the wall I would recommend.

This was a great restaurant! Fabulous food. Great BBQ! Delightful and friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got. Very enjoyable and well worth the visit.

Powdrell's BBQ! Good people serving great food! I had the mini plate - Beef Brisket, Corn Bread, Collard Greens, beans and rice and ice tea. I am getting hungry just typing this review, and I just ate! Delicious!

We were fortunate enough to find Mr. Powdrell's just at lunch time, but before they were rushed. We had the small sandwich, one brisket and one pork, onion rings and potato salad. It was all top notch. Service was quick and friendly. We'll be back for more!

The chicken is nicely.smoked without being overly done. The large sandwich with a side is a decent value. Brisket was pretty good, too. Both the baked beans and the piotato salad were slightly sweet and delicious!

Went here for lunch and it took no time at all to get our food. We went at high noon expecting a wait and there wasn't one at all. I would recommended checking out this place if you like local family owned joints!
