The restaurant has two main rooms. One is basically a pub, the other a beautiful and elegant restaurant. Pick the one you prefer, the pub can be noisy. I got a burrito and it was very good. The overall presentation of the plate looks messy,...More

We discovered this restaurant on the way through the city. We'd had some subpar Mexican food earlier in the week in another city and decided to give Cervantes a try based on other good reviews. Not only was the wait help staff efficient and very...More

When I lived in Albuquerque, this was one of my favorite places to eat excellent Mexican food. Haven't eaten here in perhaps 15 yrs now but it's still Cervantes. Think I even recognized one of the wait staff from way back too. It's still is...More

Excellent food and hospitable employees!!! The employees are very friendly which compliments the delicious food and comfortable atmosphere. Kudos to Sharon at the Albuquerque Airport Alamo Car rental center for recommending the restaurant.

Had a great house margarita followed by the Combo Plate #2. Both were excellent. This is a retro Mexican place, not your cookie cutter establishment. You have great ambience here and can have a good conversation. The bar has sports TV otherwise in the restaurant...More

Combination plate #1 was excellent. I was surprised by how much food it was. The taco ended up being my dessert! Sopapillas were excellent.

Always one of our must places to eat at. Food is excellent. I had the Stuffed Sopaipilla Plate and my sister had Enchilada plate. The sopaipilla was stuffed with hamburger just like my mother used to take for us kids when we are home. So...More

I went here today with some work colleagues upon the hotel's recommendation. We all ordered something different and all of the entrees were amazing. The ingredients are fresh. Authentic food. The salsa is wonderful. There is a bar with the restaurant. There is also a...More

Stopped into our favorite neighborhood restaurant for a late dinner. Encountered two obnoxious over served bar patrons. During our entire meal they were taking and laughing way way too loud. The darn bartender was egging them on! Only two people in the entire bar area...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Sopapillas are not a dessert. They can be eaten as a dessert when honey is added. A lot of people eat them with their meals, like tortillas or bread (like I do, I wouldn't want mine at the end of the meal). First thing I ask for when I eat New Mexican food is a basket of sopapillas.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. Up until then I only had sopapillas as dessert!
