I have been going to this establishment for decades now and it is still an institution for sure, quality still number one and a must if looking for authentic New Mexican food.

I can't give this place enough praise, the BEST meatiest closest to home tamales & sopaipillas in the SW! They're open 7am to 7pm every day. $29 per dozen fresh or frozen tamales or $2.50 ea plain/$4.55 ea smothered. Everything I've tried here is good!

Wow! What a find for quality/ no frills authentic cuisine! No dining in, but weather permitted patio dining. Everything was excellent in the sampler platter, including my favorite sopapillas! This is a must stop on every trip to ABQ!

We got a tip from the rental car place about this restaurant. This is a take out only place. It was very busy the whole time we were there too with almost all locals. They do have picnic tables on the side if you want to stay there and eat. I had the Carnitas Burrito and the red chili sauce... More

I got the tamale plate. Portion was huge. Way too much for me. 2 people could easily share this. There's 3 in a plate...swimming in red sauce with a lot of lettuce and a tiny bit of cheese on top. Service was good & friendly. Very busy place so something there must be really awesome. Doubt it's the tamale plate.

We usually just order a bulk of their tamales which I think are some of the best anywhere, but this time we ate there and the food was very good and the portions larger that any other restaurant I have been to. We split one order and did not even come close to finishing it, (#1 Mexican). A off the... More

The food is great, the prices are low, the portions are large, and I have no complaints. We were in town for balloon fiesta and are so glad we stopped in for breakfast on our way out. This place will be a must-stop the next time we're in town! Ordered the huevos rancheros and it was big enough for two.... More

Passing through Albuquerque and wanting real Mexican food as opposed to East coast, chain places WOW WOW WOW. Tamales are best we have ever tasted. Same for cheese and chicken enchiladas. I doubt there is anything not wonderful. Strictly carryout or enjoy outside at their picnic tables.

We had the pork tamale and the stuffed sopaipilla. They were wonderful! Personally the sopaipilla had such amazing beans that were perfectly seasoned I would go here daily if they were anywhere near me. So glad we tried. Since 1929- and you can taste why. Outdoor picnic tables near parking lot only. No indoor seating. Take out only.
