If I could give 100 stars, I would. By far the best in the state and I have tried most of them. Had the BBQ chicken and BBQ brisket and your lips will kiss you later for it! For over 50 years this establishment has been making Texas BBQ and they have it down to a science. Best kept secret... More

Mr. Powdrell's was recommended by our hotel. A 15 minute drive. the BBQ was astounding. The restaurant occupies and old home which is a really quaint setting. Service was good and the price was excellent. I had the small BBQ pork sandwich and wished I had ordered the large.

Delicious BBQ. Very kind and attentive wait staff. $25 for 2 people to eat. Takeout available from separate entrance. Easy to miss the parking...it is behind the restaurant. Would eat here again... The BBQ really hit the spot. Fries were also good and fresh. Location wasn't the greatest, but again, very good food.

4/20/2016 Don't assume!! Always check your order!!! The 4th street location is error prone. I drove 25 miles round trip 2 times before I actually got the correct takeout order. :( Imagine my surprise when I got home the first time and had catfish in the bottom of my bag instead of the ribs I ordered. After calling the restaurant,... More

Service at this restaurant was good. The BBQ was adequate. I had the beef brisket and while tender, was over-smoked. The BBQ beans were tasteless and the potato salad left lots to be desired. Clean quite atmosphere. Being from the south, my review may be biased but we truly know how to make BBQ in the south.

The food is awesome. one part I really like is the restaurant is made up of several rooms which allows you to have quiet meal and allows you to have great conversation without so munch noise you have to shout to be heard.

Very friendly place, Mr Powdrell's grandson showed us to our table and explained the history of the place. Our lunch was brought out quickly. Perfect BBQ smoke smell from my plate. My brisket sandwich was very tender and moist with just the right amount of smoky flavor. Overall the décor was a little dated but this one is in an... More

I go here every time I want some quality bbq. I usually get the bbq beef sandwich and my girlfriend gets the bbq chicken sandwich. There's so much more on the menu tho. Oh and their cobbler is amazing to for dessert ! This place is defined good for abq! They cater as well which is pretty cool!

Tried the fried Mac and cheese for the first time in my life as a appetizer and was just delicious. Barbeque was tender and full of flavor, including the sauce… All you Ballon Fiesta loves... More
