I am embarrassed to say that this was my first time at Mama Louisa's despite having spent a few decades in Tucson. Although a far drive from my home, I am so glad we ventured out of our local favorites on a quest for pasta for less than $20 a plate. As you walk in from the dirt lot, the... More

Great place for a group. Can't beat good Italian with a salad bar! The restaurant can handle groups, You can have a salad bar and the prices are reasonable. Well worth the trip out to their restaurant.

A co-worker recommended Mama Louisa's on Houghton. Had dinner - the chicken marsala with a side of alfredo was fantastic. Tossed salad and breadsticks were a perfect compliment to the meal. Wine list is a bit limited, but there are a few chianti selections. Service was exceptional.

We loved everything about this neighborhood gem. The antipasto plate was packed with delicious veggies meat cheese and olives. We chose an Italian wine that pleased all wine drinkers. All three pasta eaters were happy with their meals. Most satisfied of all was me, the gluten free eater. The pasta was delish, the marinara sauce outstanding and the topper an... More

Do not let the out side fool you - it has been around since the 1950's and while the inside needs updating the food is well worth going to. The service is good and the prices are reasonable for what you get

Dinner on Christmas eve and it was excellent. Calamari with marinara was great. Crispy, salty and delish. Veal parm and chicken parm are pan sautéed not deep fried. Red gravy was home style and bery good. Now one of my Tucson favorites

I've been going to Mama Louisa's since 1973 when the Elefante family took over the restaurant, having Joe's Special every time. It is a spicy tomato sauce over house-made linguine first topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The same family still runs the establishment in the same way so it is like visiting an old friend whenever I go. Enjoy!

33 years ago my husband proposed to me here, a lot has happened in those 33 years but one thing that has stayed the same is Mama Louisa. Good Italian food, good service, huge portions, nice wine options, big salad bar, comfortable seating and easy access. I would like to compliment the very patient employees who helped us with our... Since our last visit in 2009, some things changed and some things haven't! The 2 bread sticks still have no taste and are still served without butter. They smell suspiciously previously frozen, too. The salad bar hasn't changed; it is still a mixture of bagged or canned vegetables and commercially bottled bressings and condiments. Their Manhatten recipe has changed; for... More
