My husband and I stopped in here on Halloween for a beer. It was a pretty fun atmosphere. Lots of people in costumes! We got pumpkin beers and I didn't love how they used really large grained sugar for the rim, but that's pretty minor. Liked this place! The staff seemed to know everyone and everyone was super friendly.

We wanted a taste of where the locals eat. We found this on a narrow street on the way to The House of Seven Gables. It is a small diner, with a full bar. The menu is really quite large for such a small place. I had mac and cheese with added pulled pork and green beans. My husband had... More

We went to Salem this weekend and it was packed. Of course it is Halloween time! We stopped In a Pig's Eye to eat and weren't disappointed. We only had to wit a few minutes to be seated and waited with a drink at the bar. I had a burger that was very big and cooked as I ordered it.... More

Another out of the way place for dinner.....a few blocks behind the Salem Waterfront Hotel and on the way to the House of 7 Gables. Our friendly waitress said her beau was the new owner so they hoped all was good. And it was. It was more like going to Mom's for dinner. I had the macaroni and cheese with... More

On a not so busy early fall afternoon in October, we arrived in Salem, opting to take the chance on having lunch in a restaurant which once lost our reservations for dinner. We arrived and were seated at a corner table, inches from the kitchen, a rather tight squeeze, but anticipation of that classic New England Clam Chowder held a... More

Nothing fancy nor over-priced here; if you want fancy, go to Nathaniel's or Rockefella's, This is pub-grub in a little out-of-the-way place on Derby Street, which is more frequented by locals than tourists. Have a cold draft brew to cool off, or a spiked cider to warm up - and never more than a ten-minute wait for a table, at... More
