Stopped in Salem of a job. Saw this place and said why not. Ordered a ham sandwich and that is what I got. Friendly staff. Thick cut ham. Feels like home. What more can I ask for.

This diner is adorable. It would be a really fun place to bring children. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed with the food. I ordered a eggs benedict Florentine. I asked to have the english muffin on the side and they were very accommodating. The flavor was pretty good, however, the hollandaise sauce was cold. It was hard to enjoy... More

I love a diner. And, for months, I was going to this diner. It's nothing fancy, but it's always decent food. The workers are always nice and friendly. The exception: the boss. He yells at his employees, makes random rules, and is simply unpleasant. I usually would come here by myself and I could ignore this behavior. However, I came... More

Went in for Lunch on a Monday in October. They were advertising "breakfast all day" what they failed to mention was they were serving "ONLY" breakfast. There were two other parties in the diner upon our arrival, but not a clean table in the place. Two young people working, both looked like college students. They spend our entire visit complaining... This looked like a neat place to have breakfast so we swung in and were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the staff was so friendly. The prices were so reasonable too! Do yourself a favor and make this a breakfast location for your trip!

This has always been a favorite breakfast spot for us. Yes Salem Diner changed hands, but the food is still better than what you get at the chain places, and is priced way more reasonably. Besides, you get to eat in an original Diner!

Upon returning to this old diner located just outside the historic district of Salem, Ma we found a lot has chanced since our last visit. The "traditional diner menu" with daily specials and multiple home made choices was changed to a generic menu. My wife ordered a egg, cheese and bacon bagel sandwich and the rude server said what kind... More

I love old dining car diners. This one, apparently used to be great. Went there recently for a mid morning breakfast, after the rush. Pretty worn down. A bit dirty. With new corporate ownership one would think it would at least be clean. No such luck. Eggs Bennedict were covered in whipped up yoke-- no way did it resemble Hollandaise... More

The atmosphere is tiny and looks like a classic diner. They made what you asked for and you don't wait too long for it. I spent $9 on two eggs, two pancakes, homefries and toast, you would pay double for that at Ihop or Denny's!
