When I went to order my son an appetizer for dinner the kind waitress said wait we have happy hour. Cut our bill in half. The food was very flavorful. The margaritas were great! I don't know how they make them but they didn't have that artificial lime taste that some restaurants use for margaritas. Highly recommend their happy hour... More

We sat on the beautiful patio (very uncomfortable chairs though) on a perfect spring day for lunch. The waitress was wonderful and the food was great! I highly recommend the caldo de res. I would have given it 5 stars if the chairs had been comfortable.

No Tex-Mex allowed. This restaurant is a short drive from the Alamo and the heart of the tourist district in San Antonio, but the food and the ambience transport you to a small town in Mexico. The staff is awesome and the food is to die for; delicious, flavorful and fresh.

First time here, wanted Mexican. Short drive from Air B&B. Lots of parking. Incredibly colorful interior. Lots of chia and salsa. Ok food served hot. I had gorditas. Son had fajitas and daughter had Mexican special. A band came and played music at the table, violin guitars and trumpet, loud but nice.

The food was excellent -- and it was more than simply a meal. It was a good experience. We would be very happy to visit again if in San Antonio.

Great spot in SAT, local and tourists flock here. I love watching the tortillas come off the machine fresh right to your plate. Great place to eat.

We found this place while driving around San Antonio on our family spring break trip. We stopped in for dinner and loved the festive decor and atmosphere. The service was just okay but we did notice they were extremely busy. When we asked if it was due to Spring Break they said yes and that they are not used to... More

We have eaten here several times during our visits to San Antonio. It has good Tex Mex food. It is not as busy as the River Walk or the Marketplace. It is a little loud in the restaurant but still a great place for visiting with friends and family.

We went on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was at capacity. Service was a good as could have been expected given how crowed it was. Since there was a wait we ordered drinks at the bar, but had to pay for them at the bakery counter which turned out to be quite an ordeal. Only one person could process... More

At Pico de Gallo, our high standards were set over 75 years ago when Pete Cortez, a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco opened his first restaurant, Mi Tierra. In time, popularity of the restaurant grew and a new, more spacious location had to be purchased. Today, our family owns four restaurants - La Margarita, Pico de Gallo, Viva Villa Taqueria and Mi Tierra, and Pete and Cruz's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren still uphold the same standards that were set years ago. We are still revered as one of the best Mexican food restaurants to visit, and provide a unique cultural ambience that is fun for locals and tourists alike. Conveniently located in the heart of the Alamo city, we invite you to bring your family and friends to experience everything that is Pico de Gallo.
