The crab cake appetizer was amazing! We loved the atmosphere, very intimate setting. Every question we had about anything on the menu was answered by our knowledgeable waitress Jeannette. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert was absolutely delicious. If you are looking for a nice romantic evening with your significant other, you should definitely try this restaurant. They do... More

We went to the Fig Tree on New Year's Eve, which is our anniversary. The main room, in which we were seated, had only ten or twelve tables so it was quiet. The waiter was very professional and the food was good. Since it was New Year's Eve, the normal menu was not used. Our meal consisted of a five... More

Fig Tree has a great reputation among the locals and it is certainly fine dining. It's located in the historic/arts area of La Villita and has a wonderful view of the River Walk. This is a terrific restaurant, but it has certain strengths and weaknesses. Strengths: friendly service, wonderful food, impressive wine list, lovely ambience, convenient location for sightseeing, beautiful... More

We had a lovely dinner at the Fig Tree during our recent San Antonio trip. The charcuterie platter was fabulous and included house made pate and fennel sausage. The beef Wellington was excellent as was the Farfalle pasta dish. Great service and pretty views as well.

Had dinner there with a group of 10 people , the food and service were great, but other tables noise was very loud which made it hard to make conversations.

Visit restaurant with collegues on friday evening for dinner. Place is nice, good service. Great surf and turf stake, salads, deserts. But.... heating was broken, so it was very cold inside. That was very unpleasant to keep jacket on whole dinner time. Otherwise good food.

Food was average. Service was deplorable. Expected a much better experience. Staff argued and made scenes in front of patrons. We will not make a second visit.

This was our second visit to the Fig Tree. This time we had the special, Beef Wellington. It was delicious, with fresh asparagus and creamy mashed potatoes. Our waitress, Jeanette, was efficient and delightful. We will definitely be returning!

We wandered up and down the Riverwalk looking for a restaurant that had a bit of a different menu. This one had a great variety. We had duck and it was wonderful, the black rice and the salad was delicious. The tables outside were positioned so you could view the river while dining. There were little white lights in the... What an extraordinary place, unbelievable, fantastic food, incredible service, wine list to die for - this is a place for those that love fine food, fine wine, and people who care about you and your comfort and joy for the evening. This is one of the single best restaurants we have ever been to - you must must go here... More

Whether dining in the cozy interior or on the outdoor villa-style terrace overlooking the San Antonio River, exquisite food and impeccable service are mainstays of the Fig Tree Restaurant. Crisp linens drape tables set with fine china and sparkling crystal in elegant yet homey surroundings.Delicate, highly composed dishes such as Tournedos Rossini with Perigourdine Sauce, Seared Nori Tempura Yellow Fin Tuna and Cold Water Australian Lobster with Drawn Butter are menu stand-outs. Tableside flamed desserts include Bananas Foster over Vanilla Ice Cream and traditional Baked Alaska.Historically referred to as the Gray-Guilbeau House, the building is named for James Gray and French consul Francois Guilbeau who bought the house from Gray in 1853. The house saw many owners, including the Henshaw family, and was the last of the private dwellings in La Villita. The Phelps family purchased the home in December of 1970 as their personal residence. Visitors to the home were enthralled with its historical significance and ambiance. Prompted by this the family voted to share the house with all, and the Fig Tree Restaurant was born.Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phelps opened the Fig Tree Restaurant on March 17, 1971, and the family has continuously operated the restaurant ever since. We sincerely hope you enjoy this old home and its surroundings as much as those who have lived and dined here in the past.Around the corner from the Hilton Hotel, next to Little Rhein Steak House
