Mixed bag. The first time I went was with someone who knew the staff and management well; a wine rep. hey treated us like gold and the food was great. Quite awhile later we went on Valentines day. There were no prices on the menu. They brought a number of extremely pretentious dishes with next to nothing on them, including... More

We celebrated our 20th Anniversary at Sandbar. The food was excellent as well as service. The fish & chips is amazingly good!

We went here because they so far were the only restaurant in San Antonio that had raw Oysters from Prince Island, Martha's Vineyard or basically the North East. Well, to my wives disappointment they didn't have that. We weren't really sure where these oysters were from and neither did our waitress. Anyway, the wife tried them and they were, like... More

I waited a long time to eat here because I needed a good enough occasion. I'm no food expert but I was served what should have been roasted cauliflower but which looked liked a blackened mess. I would have been embarrassed to serve this on a plate costing nearly $20. I had to ask for a less charred serving. The... More

Crispy Norwegian salmon with shallot and red wine reduction was something to write home about. Great dish. Friends at our table also gave high marks to the fish and chips.

Way too expensive for oysters . The fruit tray looks way too heavy for the servers. The iced tea a d coffee service is nice. The desserts are good too.

The lightest, tastiest fish & chips were paired with a delicious local IPA. This was a delightful lunch experience. Others in our party had exquisite fried shrimp and a perfectly-prepared crab cake. They were hesitant to share. This wonderful experience was only few steps from the Riverwalk and the new Emma Hotel. Highly recommended!

Seems like a new business that needs some time to get going. Make sure your wine is fresh. Small place and not busy when we went. Ceviche was just ok. Fried plantains that came with it were good service slow. Cool decor.

We had delicious, fresh seafood at Sandbar, but the restaurant seemed to not quite have it together for lunch on a Tuesday. They had no potatoes for fish and chips. Waitress said that since they are closed Sunday and Monday, "Tuesday is their Monday." I guess I figure if they're going to be closed two days a week, they should... More
