Santa Fe has many fantastic restaurants. Jambo deserves its membership at the top. For a change of menu that has many wonderful new options, it's a great choice.

We stopped by at lunch and it was busy, so we called and made a dinner reservation. When we got there they were a half hour behind schedule, due to people staying longer than anticipated. After being seated we had a wonderful meal with chicken coconut curry, goat stew and lentils. The pecan pie and chai were some of the... More

We were so pleased with the service and food received at Jambo Cafe. We ate crab cakes, fish and shrimp. Loved the fish with the different seasoning and the many uses of plantane. Baklava was awesome for dessert

The chef almost always wins for the best soup at the Souper Bowl. Try the exotic African curries and wraps. There is a friendly ambiance and the staff is helpful explaining the different dishes. It's easy to park but the restaurant can get crowded at dinner time. During the warm weather months, there is outdoor seating.

I love all nature of burgers and up until I tried Jambo's Lamb Burger, thought perhaps "the bite" (Santa Fe Bite, formally Bobcat Bite) was pretty much tops. The Lamb Burger at Jambo may top it for a number of reasons. Very unusually in flavor (spice) which is the hallmark of Chef Obo. The bun, if not house made was... More

A nice small spot in an unpretentious strip mall that consistantly puts out great food. Good service. Modest prices. Always crowded so make reservations.

Doesn't seem like much from the outside (in a strip mall), but great atmosphere, food and service inside. Exotic dishes that are delicious.

I really enjoyed my lunch today which consisted of the "jerk chicken sandwich" and I substituted the soup of the day which was the coconut shrimp/artichoke soup. Both were excellent but the soup was outstanding. Friendly and helpful staff. Nothing fancy but the food is excellent!

A fusion of Caribbean and African food done so well- from Curried crab cakes to Jerk chicken- it will make your eyes roll in the back of your head! Try the Tropical iced tea- and also the Scotch bonnet pepper sauce on the table is a must try on any dish you pick! Many wonderful fish dishes as well- always... More

Most of my friends who live in Santa Fe love this place and with good reason. The food is tasty and very different from the standard New Mexican fare - lots of wonderful juxtapositions of flavors - plantains with cinnamon and spicy pineapple sauce; there's organic and gluten free options and great spins on the desserts - I loved the... African and Caribbean dishes and specialties from award-winning Chef Ahmed Obo. Jambo Cafe specializes in new combinations of traditional dishes with a decidedly spicy flair. Winner of many awards, "Best Soup" for the Souperbowl 4 years running and "Best International Cuisine" in the Santa Fe Reporter for 5 years. We serve vegetarian and seafood options alongside our chicken, beef, lamb, and goat dishes.

Locating in College Plaza near corner of St. Michaels Drive and Cerrillos Road. Plenty of parking.
