I had the pleasure of discovering SpeakEasy at the Newport Food Festival last year. I enjoyed their food as take out during a trip to Newport in Feb 2017 on a day the temperature hit 60 degrees. The food I have had has been exceptional and reasonably price. The mussels Catalan is the best mussel dish I have ever had... More

We went there based on the fact that they had live music. The place had a lot of younger energy which was great for us because it kept us hopping and partying. Everyone was friendly, drinks were reasonable. Two guys playing great cover tunes and took requests. There were some local Navy cadets that were dancing up a storm. Great... More

We didn't want a big dinner so went here hoping to sit at the bar and have a drink and appetizers. We were able to do just that and on a Saturday night! We went a bit early and the place filled up but there was always room at the bar. The bartender, Mike, was delightful as were the other... More

Four of us came on a Thursday night for dinner and dug into appetizers that were simply excellent. We had the bowl of Mussels, a dish of Calamari, hummus, and Pita bread, an awesome cheese platter with grapes and onion jelly, and some clam chowder. All were superb! I literally wanted to drink the broth from the Mussels bowl. We... More

I know it sounds weird but it is super yummy! Fries were good too. we asked for a side of the jalapeño blue cheese sauce to dip the fries in and that was awesome too! Atmosphere was nice for the dinner hour. I think it gets busy later on in the night.

Had to ask twice for food menu. Placed our orders.and waited. And waited. Asked hostess to check our order. She reported... More

I stopped at SpeakEasy Bar and Grill for a quick dinner after a yoga class on a weekday night. Located downtown on Thames street it is opposite the waterside next to Benjamin's. SpeakEasy was recommended to me by the yoga instructor (a local) and I will definitely return on my next trip to Newport. The restaurant was not busy, but... More

I've been coming here since they opened. The food is the most underrated in town and the service is beyond. Kayla's table service and Michael and Garrett behind the bar is not to be missed! Pro tip- get an espresso martini, best in town!

Garret and Mike are hands down the best bartenders in Newport! Attentive and caring! Be sure to get yourself an espresso martini! Puts all other bars to shame!

Good food, fair prices and very friendly service . It is pretty much in the middle of everything in the Newport shopping tourist section. We were there at the height of the season, late August. Things were busy. This small pub is great for people watching from their small front deck.Really friendly in spite of crowds. Noisy in season and... More
