Came here with another couple in the Fall. It was an unusually warm day and we sat outside right on the water. We ordered chowder and lobster rolls and everything was delicious. The lobster rolls were made with large chunks of lobster. I believe our server was Erica and she was great. Very attentive and gave great advice for touring Newport.... More

Food was average here. If you like traditional clam chowder, stay away from the chowder here. The base is thin and watery and there's a ton of dill in the broth. I was looking for a warm, thick traditional New England clam chowder and was disappointed with this one. The dill over powered all the other flavors.

We stopped here for a cup of chowder and a quick drink. The view is fantastic and the staff were very friendy and attentive. The other patrons we very friendy too. The bar had a good vibe.

Delightful location on Bowen's Wharf. Service is friendly but not extraordinary. I got the fish and chips, for $20 ... 2 large pieces of deep fried cod with non-descript fries and a small plastic container of non-descript cole slaw. My dining partner ordered the chicken parm sandwich which was very small and came with a bag of potato chips, which... More

I was very excited when I saw this place and their menu as I had been driving quite some time and was starved; the hostess was nice enough to seat me next to the window overlooking the port, however, my waitress never came. There were girls standing all over the place, chatting up with what looked like the managers, standing... More

This is the kinda place which caters to tourists since they have no interest for taste, service, or quality of the food. If they can get you in once and bill you for it that is enough, because you would be crazy to go back. When you get in it looks pretty good , large windows, beautiful views of the... More

The restaurant is right at the end of the wharf, with indoor or outdoor seating. We really enjoyed their hot lobster roll. A fish sandwich was large and also very tasty. A nice setting for a leisurely lunch.

The Lobster Bar is a fairly large seafood restaurant at the end of Bowen's Wharf. It's inviting with its lobster tank right at the entrance and the possibility of al fresco dining on the water. Perhaps the restaurant is too big or offers more entrees than it can handle, but the outcome is not always what one would hope for.... More

We visited this restaurant with the expectation of eating a wonderful lobster dinner. This place served their lobster whole in the shell. We asked them to take it out of the shell and it was an extra $10. So we decided to do it ourselves. When we were served our lobster they forgot to bring the rest of the meal... More
