Wife and I stopped in for a quick Sunday brunch for two. We arrived around 10 AM and waited for maybe 10 minutes before being seated during which we both waited outside in the sun with a cup of coffee provided by the Franklin Spa waitress. My wife and I both ordered omelettes and we shared a side order of... More

Thankfully, not part of the indifferent Thames Street tourist strip. The food here is well prepared, and has some nice portuguese specialties. We had the chourico omelet and the the kale soup. Our waitress was attentive and cheerful. Very good coffee.

Recently, I went to the Franklin Spa for breakfast. It is a short walk from Thames Street. I had an Azorean omelette. It was great, with peppers, onions and linguica. Home fries and toast came with it. There were many tempting options, such as the belgium waffles and french toast. It was a little pricier than I expected as it... More

What else can me said about this long time Newport staple. Great food, greasy or healthy, and good service to boot!

The food here is so great. The setting is very hometown dinerish. Get the maple pecan French toast....to die for. The staff is friendly and attentive. The menu selection is huge and great for any meal. Don't miss this place.

We asked at our hotel for a suggestion for breakfast in Newport. They suggested the Franklin Spa on the corner of Franklin St and Spring St. It's in the same block as the Newport Post office, with in walking distance from most waterfront hotels. It is very diner like inside, 70's décor but very clean. Most breakfast plate prices were... More

A modest place, very popular with the locals, Franklin Spa offers very good food. But for the ambiance (which is not bad), we could have easily given it a very good rating. The turkey noodle that I had soup was delicious and healthy. The restaurant is cash and check only, no credit cards.

I had the pecan stuffed french toast and it was out of this world delicious! My husband really liked their special hot sauce. Would definitely have breakfast here again if we were in town.

We walked past this place on the way to another restaurant and saw the specials board, we decided we needed to come here for breakfast. The home fries taste like red rosemary baked potatoes that the fry the next day, they were very good. We both got eggs benedict, my friend got the crab cake benedict which she really liked,... More
