Everything was so delicious! We tried the tonkotsu ramen (pork was the best of any tonkotsu ramen I’ve had) and kakuni bao (so good, must try) through the momosan set, soft shell crab roll, popcorn shrimp, and the karaage fried chicken (crispy and flavorful like nothing I’ve tasted before. Also must try). All that plus a sangria and the sake flight came out to about $110 (more than a third of which was the alcohol). Pricey but worth it. Good portion size; we were definitely full after all of that. Friendly and attentive staff. All outdoor seating but well shaded. Temperature checks on arrival. We had dinner around 5:30 pm on a Wednesday and we only waited 5 minutes to be seated. They have takeout and delivery options so we had planned on takeout if the wait was too long.

Great experience. Nice spacious outdoor terrace. No need to comment or post pictures of the food as it reflects what is already reviewed. What is like to commend is the fantastic attitude and teamwork setup for workload distribution. At least five different people came to check if everything was ok. They all seem to do the rounds, from the cheerful young lady that takes names/reservations, two waitresses, to wait staff that fills up the water and another that came by regularly, all checking that you for all you need. It's probably a lot of work for them but it really allows potential errors or new requests to be passed on to the assigned wait person. Then, upon leaving, many people thanked me including kitchen and bar staff . I'm just a solo customer here, not the head of a wedding banquet ! They have something good going here. Too bad they have to close so early (9pm) considering another sushi place further down had 1 hour wait times by then.

I’ve had ramen in Japan multiple times and some amazing ramen in Florida at a location of a famous Japanese ramen shop from Tokyo, but Morimoto has stepped up the ramen game. The spicy tan-tan, while not the typical ramen (much thicker and less soupy) was amazing. My wife got the chicken ramen which was so good and my vegetarian daughter got the vegetarian ramen which was really good. A must stop.

A was seated at a nice table outside. I ordered the kushiyake beef skewer (us $5), duck ramen (US $ 17), karage boneless fried chicken (US $12) and a long board lager. My drink was not delivered until my first course arrived. The kashiyake beef was a single small skewer of beef. Portion size very underwhelming. However, it was cooked very well and tasted very good. The duck ramen was also very tasty with a good portion of duck. I did find the broth a little salty to my liking but that is a just a personal preference I guess. The boneless fried chicken (karage) just did not to seem to have that explosion of flavour I was expecting and seemed a little dry. All up the total food cost came to US $34. I think it is a reasonable expectation to get your ordered drink with in 5 minutes of ordering and prior to your first course arriving. I also acknowledge that I did arrive late in the evening, maybe the kitchen was winding down. Would I come back? Yes the ramen was very good.

We ate at Momosan for lunch and we had a great time with great service. The ramen is just OK in my book but I find ramen is a very personal thing. The gyoza was great and the duck fat fries were good. I went another time for dinner just to order some take out and it was chaotic and had to wait forever once we found someone who would take the order. It was a Sunday night but there were lots of empty tables. It is a bit on the pricy end. It does have a great location.

On the ground floor you find this outdoor Japanese dining establishment called Momosan. On a Monday night the wait to get in was 15-20 minutes but that hardly deterred guests from approaching more and more. It’s a ramen shop with sushi and other delectables. They have a full bar as well with a bartender and all. The kitchen is open so you can see some of the action but seating is primarily outdoors. Appetizers average about $8 each and sushi rolls are long and come with up to 8 pieces. The ramen bowls are a nice size. They have traditional spicy or very mild options. Each one includes the egg. Table turnover is a bit slow which fuels the wait to get in on a busy weekday night. It’s not kid-friendly per say but families frequent the restaurant as well. The ramen is flavorful and chopsticks are the default eating utensils but forks are available as well. The rib appetizer is good as well as the tempura roll. The chicken ramen was excellent! I’d go back. Our server was friendly and quite hospitable.

My friend and I really wanted ramen one evening, but the problem was it was Sunday during Labor Day weekend, so we knew we were likely facing long lines. We considered Marugame, but ramen is best when it’s served piping hot, and we didn’t have a microwave in our hotel room, so we didn’t want to schlep our ramen only to eat it cold. We ate at Morimoto the night before (that’s a separate review, but it was amazing!) and Momosan is on the bottom floor, and we remembered walking past it and not seeing it incredibly full. Called ahead and asked what a 2 person wait was like. They said about 20-30 minutes, which wasn’t too bad for a Sunday night on a holiday weekend. Walked over, put our names on the list, and we were seated in about 15-20 minutes. We ordered edemame to start with, and I ordered the Spicy Tan Tan ramen for my meal, which really scratched that ramen itch I had. So good. My friend also really liked her Tonkotsu ramen. Also had a Yuzu margarita, which was ok. Not my favorite I had in Oahu, but also not the worst. Service was friendly, despite being pretty busy, our server hustled! Really pretty outside seating area. Enjoyed my meal here. Not a super long wait, and I got to eat my ramen the way I like it, piping hot :)

Saw this place from the street & decided to try it on a whim & were so glad that we did! There are two levels, the top level is a little fancier & the bottom is a little more casual. We sat at the bottom level & sat outside. The staff was so friendly & amazing. The food was overwhelmingly great. We had pigs ears, spicy tantan ramen & tonkatsu ramen & everything was tasty. Would highly recommend.

We've been to Japan multiple times and have had tons of ramen all over the US and my wife and I can say this ranks among the very best ramen we have ever had! The menu is limited so unless you want either ramen or sushi, don't come here. The ramen is so flavorful with being overly salty unlike most ramen places. Get the combo. It's somewhat cheaper and the appetizers like the baos and the gyozas are also amazing. The service is solid and the outdoor seating is pleasant. Will definitely come back next time we come to Waikiki.

This is located on the corner just outside The Alohani Resort opposite the beach. Great place with nice atmosphere. Try the ramen, we had the duck ramen, I had a less salty version and it was really good. Tried a pear sake as well, so cute it was served in little banboo boxes, it was rather strong. Nice place.

For dinner I rate this as a 3 bc even though everything we tasted was good it would be much better if there were different sauces to try with the various skewers and unless you want a big bowl of ramen there are not any soups to chose from nor are there salads like on their lunch menu. I actually rate this as a 5 for lunch and probably a 4 to pop in for drinks and “snack-a-tizers” but really not much of a dinner type offering. Probably should have gone upstairs to morimoto’s full dining restaurant for a dinner experience!

Momosan is attached to the Alohilani resort and it is a subsidiary of Morimoto which should and did guarantee a great dining experience as I truly enjoy Morimoto's restaurants. For five days, every time we walked by, there was a line so if you plan to dine for lunch, I suggest you arrive early. We truly enjoyed our lunch experience and with so many yummy options, it was hard narrowing down our choices. We ended up going with the popcorn shrimp, tuna poke bowl, and the tokyo chicken ramen bowl. All dishes were delicious and the service was great!

Was craving ramen while staying in Waikiki and Momosan was just three blocks from my hotel. I ordered the Momosan Set for $24 which is is bowl of ramen of your choice and an appetizer. I went with the classic Tonkotsu ramen (pork broth, charsu pork, egg, scallion) and for appetizer the two piece Kakuni Bao (pork belly bun). Fab and filling meal for a good price! Definitely check this place out.

We were staying at the ‘Alohilani so it was easy to find downstairs. The outdoor seating was lovely, and it was a great night for outdoor dining. We tried the tetsunabe wagyu hamburg steak and it was SO good. We also had the duck fat French fries (also amazing), karaage (yum) and the tokyo chicken (and asked for it spicy). Over all we really enjoyed it, and would recommend it for dinner!

My teen boys and I ate here three times in the month we stayed in Waikiki. The ramen was delicious, just the right amount of savory in every bite. The poke was so good, too - a unique twist on a traditional Hawaiian treat. Casual setting right off Kuhio Beach - you can show up in your swimsuit (with a shirt and shoes). Might be wrong to say it, but the best Mai Tai in Waikiki is right here! Best service in Waikiki, too.
