From start to finish, our experience at La Mer at the Halekulani was extraordinary! The view, food, wine and drinks tickled all the senses. The view and sound of the ocean did not compare to the beautiful artistry of the plating and exquisite taste of the food. The wine pairing was perfection. The service from the staff was impeccable. Came here with my husband for our baby moon several years back and had a great experience from food to service. It's a true 5-star experience. (This place is not kids friendly for sure- we wish we could bring our now almost 4yo daughter)

We went to La Mer yesterday evening to enjoy with family visiting from France. Our family guests are from Lyon and are definitely gourmets. We choose the menu degustation with white and red French wines from their excellent wine list. Our palates were seduced by the subtlety and freshness of products. Waitstaff was professional and we had the privilege to... More

I have traveled on business to Honolulu for the past 28 years. I have always found La Mer to be a wonderful place to enjoy fine dining at the highest level. Service, food, atmosphere, view, privacy, entertainment; you have it all here. Others have come and gone in this tourist town, but this remains at the top.

the restaurant had a great view, good service, beautiful place, but the food was mediocre and quite expensive, if you are traveling from another major city with french cuisine, this does not compete. Else the food is ok.

Six adults and we were allocated to the private dining room with views to forever! The food was excellent, waitstaff professional and friendly, excellent wine list. Best dining experience of our holiday. There is a dress code and it is policed - big tick of approval from us. Recommend highly.

This is a top class restaurant with mediocre food. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service, while slow, was really friendly. But the food.... bread that tasted like Pepperidge Farm, lobster that was chewy and bland, etc. And SO expensive. We really regretted spending our hard-earned money there.

We celebrated a special occasion whilst in Hawaii at La Mer. Service was spectacular and food just what we'd hoped for, being foodies and having eaten in many of the top restaurants, we were not disappointed. We had our 9yo with us and had the degustation which was lovely. They happily adapted the menu to account for my pescatarian diet... More

Not your typical hotel restaurant-- you get to hear the ocean waves and either hawaiian or jazz music in the background. The portions were modest size--until you get to dessert which is oversize. They also bring you lots of little extras. Tables are spaced far apart- so you can have a conversation. Don't worry if you aren't seated at the... More

As the name suggests, La Mer is a French restaurant and it is one of the highest caliber restaurants anywhere. Situated in the exquisite Halikulani Hotel, La Mer is a delight for all the senses and it retains a 5 star rating. You are treated like royalty. Our server told us that everyone who comes to La Mer is a... More
