It's one of the best in the area with fresh sushi. They offered a tasting menu but didn't say how many dishes it offered, you can tell them to stop serving once you're done. We brought our toddler and was told it's not a kid-friendly restaurant though they still let us in - we ended up eating really quickly, still... More

We are sushi snobs and this is the best sushi restaurant outside of the Tsukiji fish market in Tokyo. I would rate this restaurant ahead of Jiro, unless you're a true "sushi expert" who's game to try anything that's edible from the sea!

The atmosphere at this restaurant is average, but the food from the chef's menu was great. Came out in small tastings and left you wanting more. Recommend reservations.

Right after booking our flight to HNL, I immediately made a reservation for Sasabune's sushi bar. The restaurant was pretty casual, but the staffs were super attentive. We ordered the fish omakase and it was absolutely fantastic. Everything was really tasty, fresh, and creative! They were always beautifully presented. I really appreciated the chef telling us what each dishes were,... More

The restaurant atmosphere is casual, but high-end service. The establishment offers both menu dining and Omakase, definitely go with the Omakase. Every course brought to the table has its own unique flavor for the tester to savor. It's not the type of restaurant to get satiated, but a treat to your taste palate. You'll need a reservation and a budget... More

Perfect omakase with really fresh fish. The restaurant has a lot of strange rules - but worth it for the food and spot- on service.

I have been going here for over 16 years -- every time I have come to the island, and now that I live it, I am happy to say it can be my go-to place. Just superb sushi! Trust the chef, it will be great. This measure up to some of the very best in Tokyo!! If you love sushi,... More

The food is amazing, each piece of sushi is very creative with flavors and ingredients. There was a portobello mushroom sushi with shiitake mushrooms, and a sweet shrimp with marinated shrimp. Very tasty!

This was our third visit to Sushi Sasabune. Form the first of several Omakase courses to the last, our experience was brilliant. The abalone course together with a great sake made this the best meal we have ever had. Words cannot describe how magnificently prepared every piece of sushi was. If you are a genuine fan of well-prepared and beautifully... More
