One of the most delicious and authentic Hawaiian meals in Honolulu. Meals are family style. The owners were very helpful. Since my partner and I were visiting the restaurant for the first time and trying new food, they taught us history about the meals and then taught us how to combine various meals together.

This is the best place to tuck into Hawaiian and other kinds of "local" food in the Waikiki area (actually, it's about one mile from Kalakaua Ave. in Kapahulu). Helena's has its followers; so does Young's Fish Market. Since you'll only be reading this if you're a tourist, you'll have to take my word for it–after 81 years of eating... More

"Dip dip eat", she said and it was music to my ears and a symphony for my taste buds! This is one of those iconic places you want to hit when in Honolulu. Native as it gets. The pork excels to all new levels at ONO's Hawaiian not to be confused with Ono Seafood across the street which is famous... More

Our visits to Oahu wouldn't be complete without at least one visit to ONO Hawaiian Foods. One word describes the food - Yummy! It's just a nice walk from Waikiki and when you arrive, be patient. There's usually a line-up outside the door. But it's worth the wait to get inside and have some yummy food, especially the Laulau.

I've eaten Hawaiian food here for about 50 years and the food is always excellent. The portions are large enough to share. Laulau is made daily and fresh. The chop steak is really good if you like watercress but not on the menu everyday. The secret is in the grill. All the flavor from the pipikaula is there. A great... More

We had no high expectations for how Ono Hawaiian would look. It's an older mom and pop type Hawaiian. My daughter and I sat down and prepared to order an entré each. The waiter - who clearly also had an interest in the restaurant - told one entré was enough - and he was correct. We had the Lau-Lau and... More

On our way back to the hotel from Leonard's Bakery, we came across this restaurant - another place on our bucket list to visit while in Honolulu. We were told by friends that from the outside, the restaurant looked like a "hole in the wall" cafe, but it actually served really good traditional Hawaiian-style cooking. We went just before noon... We decided to visit because of the excellent reviews we read online. We were not disappointed. Definitely a hole-in-the-wall type of place, but so delicious! I couldn't believe how fast the service was either. We had our food on the table within about 5 minutes. The kalua pork was my favorite personally!

Great stop on our bike food tour! This place had awesome plate lunch. Like a lot of local places, if you don't know what you're looking for, just ask! The staff was super friendly and made great suggestions. Like the name says... it's so ono!

I don't know how my wife found this place but thank god she did. You will not find any finer authentic Hawaiian food in any of the islands. Portions are large, food is delicious and the friendly staff practically orders for you. Not to mention, the food came out so fast.
