L & L Drive Inn is almost an institution for the island. You can find anything for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Many local entrees are available for one to try. My favorite is the Kalbi beef short ribs. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is very good too.

We ate at L&L at Ala Moana Beach. If the servings are the same, a good value, 2 of us shared the BBQ platter. Not used to the use of rice instead of fries, but I could learn.

We've eaten at a few L&Ls around the island; this visit it was the Kahala location. My favorite meat to have in my plate lunch is kalua pork (looks like pulled pork, but the flavor is different - better in my opinion). My grandson likes the chicken katsu (looks somewhat like chicken nuggets, the sauce makes it different.) A regular... More

I must say that L&L's Chicken Katsu is better than every Japanese restaurant on island. I don't know why but I can't find any other comparison here or in the mainland. Even in Japan they give you small flavorless pieces. You must try the Katsu. For Kalbi I recommend Soon's on Salt Lake BlVD in near the Safeway in Salt... More

L&L is a place that reflects local tastes for simple everyday foods. A plate lunch can run you about $8 to $10 depending on what you buy. Most of the plates come with two scoops of rice, one scoop of macaroni or tossed salad. Some local favorites are Hamburger Steak w/ Gravy over, Chicken Katsu, Teri Beef, Beef Stew or... More

Notice the word INN with two n's...a chain - several around Oahu and none that I know of are drive through as the name might imply - casual coffee shop atmosphere - ok food - priced right for often expensive tourist stops. Family of four with two picky teens...so this place worked for us...

Living here I never could get use to this eatery. No matter what I tried I always felt a bit sick afterwards. Locals love it but its not for me.
