We visit Hawaii twice a year, and we always go to To Chau at least once or twice per visit. We went again on our recent trip. On a scale of 1 to 10, we usually give To Chau a 10. They serve our favorite pho on the planet including the various pho places we tried in a Vietnam. This... More

Broth is amazing and a secret family recipe! We used to have to line up for an hour just to get in though recently with so much competition there has not been much of a wait time; generous on thai basil and meat;

Our daughter's Vietnamese partner wanted to come here as he said the Pho was really authentic( he grew up in Vietnam). He did warn us that the ambience was somewhat down-market. We didn't really know what to expect... the fact there was a line of customers waiting( had to wait around 20 minutes for a table) when the next-door restaurants... More

I ate my pho for breakfast (place opens at 8:30am) and I was set for the day. If you are of discerning attitude, please don't eat here. You'll insult the perfection of the soup and the skilled hands that make it. Step into this doorway on River St. In Chinatown and you'll feel the simple functionality of a great soup... More

To Chau is an authentic pho restaurant. That's what they make and that's what they serve. It starts with the line on the sidewalk outside the door. People from all places and walks of life wait patiently for the best pho experience in town. The broth and rice noodles are house made. They provide authentic ingredients like saw leaf to... More

It is no longer crowded with daily long lines, but their food and soup are still the best in Honolulu. Soup from other Pho restaurants tend to be a little sweeter. The noodles stay intact even during re-heat. Unlike leftover noodles from competitors, they dissolve into nothing!!

Walked the perimeter of Chinatown and stopped at To Chau because it had the most patrons inside. Restaurant was closing in one hour. The area did not seem too sketchy to us, but we're long time New Yorkers. Inside is not fancy. Service is efficient. A pitcher of cold water and glasses are left on your glass-topped table if there... More

My husband just returned from Chinatown. We had lunch at this little dive called Pho to Chau on River Street between Hotel & King. I know from other reviews that we lucked out as we arrived at lunch & there was not a line up for tables. Service was very quick & efficient. We shared a couple of the best... More

Very tasty broth, lots of meat, plentiful fresh toppings--it is just excellent Pho. It is easy to get to the restaurant by bus from Waikiki as lots of routes stop close by. Keep in mind that the restaurant closes around 2:00 pm and you can't use a credit card.

If you are up for a bit foray into a sketchy area, and you want some excellent Pho (traditional Vietnamese noodle soup), then go here to To Chau. It's about ten dollars a bowl, but it's worth it. Try the tendon, rare flank, and tripe. Good stuff!
