Everyone raves about the view off of the back deck--as well they should. But with the deck's temporary landslide-induced closure, one can focus more on the more subtle charms of the City View. First of all, the burgers are absolutely terrific! Get the original Uncle...More

Haven't visited since I spent one of the most boring dates of my life here. Luckily this time met a good friend who provided great conversation. The porch wasn't open - not sure why and not sure if it had to do with the recent...More

We're glad you didn't allow the most boring date of your life keep you from returning! The deck wasn't open due to the landslide. Although the deck, itself, is not in danger, the City has decided to err on the side of caution since there...More

A friend frequented this bar in the 1970s and we revisited it in May 2017. It's was an off-the-beaten path bar with a good selection of cold beer and peanuts. Can't comment on the food. Two doors down was a landslide in early May and...More

Having seen this place listed on Trip Advisor we gave it a try. Wish we hadn't. It's a local dive with no charm whatsoever and the worst food imaginable. We ordered burgers and when we asked for medium rare we were told, "We don't cook...More

We're disappointed you had such an unpleasant experience. As you can tell from other reviews, that's not typical. The deck was temporarily closed after a retaining wall failure and resulting landslide on May 3. All decks that were potentially affected by the landslide were deemed...More

City View has been a staple of Mt Adam for 142 years. It is a nice local place, always friendly and has a nice selection of craft beers. We went Saturday to take advantage of the great weather and the great view from the deck....More

What a great city view. And that's about it. Food was poor, atmosphere was bad. Place was run down. No table service but if you didn't see the sign, you wouldn't know. I personally won't go again. Oh .. good luck parking! Ha ha!

Had the pleasure of having a Lageman burger. I don't know what they do to them but it is a light burger. You're full but don't feel stuffed. My friend had a Rueben burger that was also great. All if this punctuated with an excellent...More

We stopped for lunch at City View Tavern prior to seeing the Van Gogh special exhibit at CAT. Mainly a burger place. Orders are placed at the bar, and delivered to your table. Only 1 person was working, so service was slow. The menu looked...More

We are a little spoiled because we live close to the City View, so it became our neighborhood bar after moving to Cincinnati. Its just the kind of bar my wife and I love- small, not fancy, with a pretty good beer selection and friendly...More

Description
In business since 1875, and located in a residential area, City View Tavern perches about half way down the western slope of Mt. Adams. The beer is cold, the food is very good, and the view of downtown Cincinnati, the Ohio River, and Northern Kentucky is spectacular.
