We stayed at the hotel in September 2021. The hotel and staff were lovely. However, the restaurant is extremely overpriced and mediocre. The Wawona Hotel Dining Room is the only dinner restaurant within 30 minutes and you would have to drive out of the park....We would have been happy to pay for a lovely, sit-down, full service meal. Instead, we had to pre-pay (& tip) for a buffet (no menu service) that was basically a salad, rolls, side vegetables and fried chicken & pot roast. There were no vegetarian entrees and we were told that the chef doesn't make accommodations. It was a set price of $38/pp, with tax and tip, it came to $50 without drinks. For the vegetarian/vegans, it was $50 for a salad and green beans. For the others, $50 for fried chicken and mashed potatoes that was no better than fast food is ridiculous. We felt we were completely taken advantage of and it tainted the stay at what otherwise would have been a lovely hotel. For an international hotel, lack of food options and accommodation is unacceptable. Will not recommend - stay in Yosemite Valley.More
We were completely surprised to discover that the Wawona Hotel dining room is not serving from a menu. The pictures you see of white table cloths obviously were taken at an earlier time
The food is from a walk up buffet. Very limited (3) choices....You have to go to a "bar" which is a sorry of closet hidden in the back before you are "sat" as the sign says. You them pay in advance for your help...$37.50 per person, drinks extra. No one tells you anything about how to get coffee or dessert. We went and asked the hostess.
The food was not good.
Tonight we're driving a few miles to get a meal.More
Yes! Dining on the historic veranda is a memorable. Just set your mind to the negatives: No Reservations. Park Service Contractor. Buffet Selection. Expensive. Wait Times. Relax after the early crowd diminishes. TI P: Order and enjoy your cocktail and wait for your name to...be called. With COVID, you're kinda trapped here with extremely limited options but at the end of trip you'll see Wawona pictures and remember the nice summer dinner you had here.More
We were in Yosemite for New Years Eve, and were looking around for something low key to do. We got a recommendation to visit the Wawona Hotel and listen to the piano player. We decided to try it. We did not have reservations, but they...still made us feel at home. We had a short wait for a table, and even though they were serving a fixed dinner, we were able to order dessert and drinks. The service was friendly, and the desserts tasty. Afterward we went out to the main room and listened to a fun cover band.More
You've got to love a place that will bring you your drink or your appetizer to the parlor where the incomparable Tom Bopp is playing Christmas music or maybe something by Fritz Kreisler. The service is very efficient and unobtrusive; the menu is ample for...a place of this size. The food is quite good, and the dining room is large enough to accommodate any size group. We've never seen it crowded, but dinner reservations might be a good idea. We had a very nice relaxed breakfast there: Washburn Omelet and French Toast came to $30 including tip, so not cheap but not too pricey either.More
