Very disappointed by the quality of the food and the portions that were quite small. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend...

Bruno, the owner, is always greeting you with a smile, and good food as well. Great Japanese beer on tap too. I'm a local and a regular

What a great find! This is a small and cosy restaurant with a superb menu and excellent service. Authentic Japanese, some of the best I've had outside Japan. Super friendly and well-paced service. Food was all excellent. Family friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Make sure to book, they must have turned 20 people away while we were eating. Recommend.

Our family of four tried to have dinner there but after waiting for over five minutes to be seated (yes there were tables available) or even just acknowledged we gave up and went else where. It didn't seen to be busy with only one table being served, and two people pushed throug to do takeaway orders, the waiting staff simply... More

Went as a family on Saturday night and 8 adults had a great meal. Went back Monday night for our wedding anniversary and had an even better meal. Staff were fantastic.

Based on reviews was expecting more from Sasanoki but unfortunately the food quality was average at best and no matter how friendly and attentive the service was, there is no denying that quality food is not on offer here.

It was so good that I had to write about this small authentic restaurant. You walk in the door and are welcomed and seated by the owner originally from Japan. The sign is, Japanese folk are eating there. Must be good, and it was I went four times for lunch and got sashimi to take away every time for my... More

We can't eat here for lunch because a long queuing and back for dinner. But the bento we ate which are sashimi bento & tempura bento is small portion and not too fresh for salmon sashimi. A little bit disapointed because we think Wanaka very closed to salmon farm.
