We tried to book a table 48 hours prior to our desired visit to this restaurant for our last dinner at this resort, at which we had enjoyed a family ski holiday. Based on the very positive reviews, we had thought this would be a sure success. On the evening, nice ambience and reception, and as we could not get... More

We loved this bar/restaurant/shop. They have a deli wine shop that sells great gifts, great food, great wine and all the essentials. The bar is cool, never got too busy. You can sit around the fire and enjoy Aperol Spritz and beer, absolute bliss! Took my 8 year old niece too and she loved it, sipping on her orangina, all... More

We are 4 men in a ski vacation in flaine. We attended the place twice (!) as it was so welcoming - the service was above and beyond our expectations and the dishes were great . We challenged the chef in the different levels of steak preparation ( rare, medium rare etc ) , great homemade drinks , very attractive... More

Food was great and the atmosphere very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Family friendly restaurant with good traditional food. We had both the traditional racallete and hot stones dishes.

A great restaurant with lovely staff. We had the fondue and cooked on hot stones. It was a great experience.

Beautiful food! Hot stone was beautifully presented, beef, duck, turkey and veg, we had started tucking in before I remembered to take a picture! Bottomless sides are lovely - we were stuffed by the end (and we're not thin people) Bill came with a lovely shot of something - sweet and lemony with a hint of vanilla? Atmosphere is lovely,... Went without a reservation as just a short walk from our Terrasses d'Helios accommodation, and were lucky to get a table. Excellent food and service, despite being pretty busy. Rustic atmosphere with wooden panelling and log fire. Large portion sizes: 3 of us shared a foie gras and a small salad as a starter. For main, 2 had fondue and... More

Excellent food. Friendly service. Comfortable dining area with open fire in the middle. Free transport from your accommodation in Flaine to the restaurant and back, but you have to share a minibus ride with other diners. Our only disappointment was the wine. All the wines are expenside, there is no reasonably priced house wine. We took the cheapest (but still... More

Our second visit to L'Ancolie and we were not disappointed! Didn't get round to reviewing last year but after our second successful visit thought we must review this place. We were staying at Helios and the restaurant is just a short 5 min walk up the hill. It's in a brilliant chalet setting with a huge roaring fire in the... More

A free shuttle takes you from Flaine in less than 10 minutes to the restaurant. Looks like one of the original buildings giving you a respite from the concrete bunkers in the village. Great bar and drinks. Well prepared food, gigantic portions. I had the duck breast, very good my wife had a rib eye with foie gras not exactly... More
