The experience was great. The place is very cozy and the food is really good...they have a great cook and they use high quality produces (you can tell right away by simply tasting the food). The icing on the cake is the customer service...everyone super nice, super friendly and super helpful! If you're in the neighborhood, be sure to stop... More

Myself and my fiancé followed a recent New York Times article praising the culinary delights to be discovered at Portirio's, Redondo. So while on our way from Monsarez to Vila Viscosa we decided to detour the twenty extra kilometres or so to sample this highly recommended foodie experience. This did not disappoint. We were met by the woman of the... More

Aside from such a charming village, Porfirio's is well worth visiting. The town was quiet and didn't have any tourists on the Saturday we were there. Restaurant was empty but that's a result of our timing and not the service or food. It should be a destination restaurant when touring the countryside. Family owned with amazing food and quality authentic... More

We had dinner at this really amazing place: rabbit in red wine sauce. It was delicious. We will hopefully come back on our way back. Thanks you for this experience!!

A great experience. I had their homemade goat's cheese as a starter which was brilliant accompanied by the locally produced Porta da Ravessa Red Wine. For my main course I had the house speciality Secretos das Porco Preto with flat chips and salad. I had a tremendous feeling of well being such was the pleasure this meal gave me. I... More

We went for lunch on a very hot day and it was a relaxing restaurant - the wine cellar style feels upmarket yet unpretentious. The traditional food was delicious and wine excellent. Our host was really helpful when we were picking out our dishes and we really enjoyed our meal.

Had dinner at Porfirio's and enjoyed some hearty Alentejo food. The Portuguese host and hostess were very welcoming and helpful. The hostess showed us a picture book to explain the menu which we thought was great. The decor was nicely done, it felt a bit like a wine cellar. Over all a very good meal.

Forget fancy food and 5 stars hotels...This place will blow your mind with simple and real food, with the best portuguese hospitality and environment. D. Mariana and her husbans run their place with such care and joy, it's impossible to be immune to such commitment. The food is absolutley gorgeous, and the "encharcada" (tradicional portuguese dessert) is the best I've... More
