What a best kept secret has Hondarriba!!! This is what I call perfection! The service was excellent, very welcoming and friendly, the place itself has a nice design and decoration, and the food... Pffff, it brought me somewhere else! If you come to Hondarriba, this is a must! They surly master the seafood, with a good selection of wine, and... More

The decor did to some extent remind of something out of seventies, but it was obviously only recently appointed. Food was typically Basque, with quality ingredients used. Inspiration of the cooking was average, and we had expected better. However, overall it was pleasant with attentive service.

Located downstairs at The Hotel Bidasoa, we had pleasure of dining here for lunch. The attentive wait staff were extremely helpful in finding the English translation of the menu of the day (24 Euros). Started with cheese starter with pardons. Next came Crispy artichokes, octopus and shrimp with creamy mashed potatoes Galician. Main dish was Bacalao (cod) asado con txangurro... More

We were very excited to go and sorely disappointed with the outcome. The food was at best average, the service was good and solicitous but not what we epected. If I had to recommend one restaurant only in Hondarribia it would sadly not be this one.

Great wait staff, amazing food, beautiful restaurant, great prices! This was hands down one of the best meals we had during our 3 weeks in Europe. The daily lunch menu with 3 courses and wine and coffee included was only 22 Euro. If you are going to be in Hondarribia, do not miss this restaurant!

We were staying at the Hotel Rio Bidasoa for a week on holiday and had booked the restaurant for our first evening in Spain. I chose from the set menu which cost 22 Euros for three courses which also included a very decent bottle of Rioja. The starter was a seafood risotto which was topped with a delicious foam tasting... My wife and I went to Sugarri upon a friend's recommendation. It's in Hondarribia, a fisherman's town just 30 mins drive from San Sebastian. Our friend was living in the Basque Country for more than two decades and continously updating his knowledge about restaurants and chefs. It was a Sunday afternoon and Sugarri was empty. That made us feel a... More
