Each time we visit the Parador hotel just along the road ,we dine at this restaurant. The food has been consistently good in charming surroundings. Service can however be a little erratic, though with a smile! It is the partner restaurant of the Parador, the hotel not having a restaurant of its own.

Excellent food and wine all well served in a lovely old atmospheric setting. We had eaten here before and enjoyed it. This visit - even better. We will definitely return

Looking at other reviews perhaps we picked the wrong night! The surly waitress didn't help either. We decided a main and dessert were the required options my husband chose the hake and scallop on a cocktail stick (for that's what it was a large cocktail stick) and I chose the steak with potato galette (it was smaller than a 50... As the Parador up the road did not serve dinner, we ended up here. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, especially the hake and scallop brochette.

An absolute find in the walled town. The ambience was lovely in a fascinating historic building, with beautiful decor and warm cosy atmosphere. The food was outstanding and the service friendly and accommodating. Very Basque in its style of cooking with local ingredients. The iberico ham and baked hake outstanding. Also highly recommend the lemon sorbet mojito dessert. Very glad... More

We came here with a group of colleagues. Warm octopus salad as a starter and then a brochette of hake with scallops. Absolutely delicious and the waitresses were very helpful and friendly.

Went because hotel recommended and trip advisor was ok but have to say the service and food was nothing as good as we had had in many other places, they were trying to be better than they were , tapas in other places way better than this. with main course asked if any vegetables, nothing and we couldn't order any... Lovely "characterful" small restaurant in Hondarribia near the Parador. Great fish soup. HOWEVER, the VERY rich, beautifully cooked and generously-portioned dishes we had to follow the soup (monkfish for me, pork for my husband) came...NAKED on the plate! The pork came with a teaspoonfull of veg-garnish, my monkfish with a swirl of veg-garnish--NO REAL vegetables, NO rice/potatoes/other contrast carb...NOTHING! (not... More

We ordered as starter octopus with potatoes and salat. Not only the taste was really good but also the appearance. As main dish we had cogote de merluza which also was amazing. We use to come here when we come from Germany to Bilbao. I really recommend it.

We happened on this restaurant below the Plaza de Armas. The food and service were excellent. They had an excellent Txakoli wine to accompany the meal. Highly recommended. Service first rate.
