This was a good find. Nicely done, with palapa-style dining room and authentic furniture. The food was Mayan-focused and very good and the margaritas were excellent. The servers did not speak English, so communication was a bit of a challenge, but this was our problem - not theirs!

A great restsurant serving delicious authentic Mayan/Yucatecan food. The setting is just beautiful with some palapas creating a great atmosphere. Servers are dressed on traditional outfits. Food is prepared right and delicious. Simply a great place to visit that one would want to miss.

We came on a tour bus, so we got a pre-set meal with a cheese empanada (amazing) and a lot of corn based piece that reminded my of tostadas. I really enjoyed the Yuctacea food, and it was very comforting to know that everything made here is made using purified, safe water, so there's nothing you have to avoid. I... More

Can be crowded with people from tour buses. Doesn't have typical Mexican foods. Food is average to good depending on the dish. Liked the chaya empanadas! Most of the food was good, but the queso rellano wasn't my cup of tea (there is no peppers in this dish). The Chaya drink was really good. The service is good - but... More

We visited this yellow city from Progreso. It was a hot day but inside this restaurant it did feel cool. We had starters which were delicious but after them were unable to eat more cause the portion size was so big. The list had a lot too choose from, local dishes, good list. Nice restaurant.

A bit of a drive from Merida/Progreso but worth the trip, not only to visit the town of Izamal and have lunch but also a chance to see the installations for the organic horticulture camp of Horso in nearby Hoctun. The restaurant in centro of Izamal is an oasis with quiet service and very tasty food. Efficient service and pleasant... More

The place is packed with people from all the state that travel just to eat the traditional dishes. Cooked to perfection, you have to try the panuchos and anything with axchiote (pork, cochinita, etc)

The restaurant is a good one with excellent cuisine form the Yucatan, however the place is very busy and we waited for almost two hours to get a table and the service was slow since they were so busy. The food was very authentic and well serviced and the staff was friendly and courteous. My advice here is to call... More

We weren't sure about visiting Izamal but this restaurant made it worth it. The location is wonderful and the service very nice. The Venado almendrado is unforgettable.
