We looked forward to our Italian in a quaint environment but had a mixed experience. Told after ordering that many things were not available. Some of our food was cold, burnt, others having the steak thoroughly enjoyed theirs. Service needs improving and we had to scrabble around to pay cash as the card machine wasn't working. Sorry, won't be returning.

As the title suggests, this was an awful experience to say the least. Upon entering on a Friday night - the busiest night in December, there was only one other couple dining! I visited this 'restaurant', with three friends. I immediately visited the bathroom, to discover a very dirty and dingy room - this should have told us everything we... More

Small authentic Italian restaurant that always delivers on quality food. Extensive menu available cooked behind the 'bar' by the boss, an Italian gentleman. Child friendly with kid portions £5 for small pizza or pasta. Always popular with my young kids. Recommended every time.

I visited this restaurant with my sister last night whilst in Matlock to watch the fireworks. We have been to this restaurant about 4 times previously over the last few years around the same time. We book here because we don't want fish & chips and we can book a table in advance. Each time we go we have faith... More

We had an enjoyable three course meal which reminded us of a small restaurant in Capri, though Matlock Bath in October is just a bit colder. Service was efficient and friendly. True, the sweets were 'bought in', and we did not try the wine, but everything else was good.

Visited here this evening (Friday), from the quaint look of the place our expectations were that the food would be all fresh and home made... There was one other table in there as we arrived which was worrying at 8pm on a Friday evening. As soon as we were passed hand written menus we were concerned, my calzone was black... More

My son in-law ordered Calzone it was STILL frozen in the middle, the little waitress took it back...a few seconds later ping. My daughter and me shared a burnt pizza but my pot of tea was the highlight, first the waitress brought a jug of cream said no it is milk but replaced it after looking at it. then I... More

Cold, damp, no music playing, lights flickering off and on, poor service and the smallest pizzas ever! Dreadful place - avoid it, especially if you're hungry. Such a shame as had potential to be good.

What a quirky little number! We had pizzas, and on reading all these reviews, sounds like the pasta should be avoided. The chef is a true grumpy Italian, who shouts at his (crying) waitress, but, it's all part of the experience! Yes, it's all a little dated, and the toilets rather shabby, I wouldn't want it any other way, and,... More
