This was a choice we had to make quickly and it was not a great one. The beer was good, but the food just so-so. It is close to the departure point for boats to the skelligs, which is why we chose it.

Nice place to eat and drink in the heart of Portmagee. Best served Guiness in my life and nice view for marina. We were impressed when we had found out that Mark Hamill was here :}

We had a pleasant time last night at the restaurant! The start was not flawless, because the kitchen closed during we waited for a free table, but the cooks saved the place's nominee! Fish and chips was fabulous! Thanks!

The pub is in a nice quiet location next to the Portmagee pier. There are tables outside next to the water that are really nice on a sunny day. We ate dinner and returned for lunch the next day. The mussels and haddock were great...More

I went here for dinner, and had the most delicious food. I tried the mussels, breaded brie, home made bread and chips. Everything was outstanding, and the service was as good! Loved it, and I cannot wait to go again next time I'm in Kerry....More

We had a nice dinner at the Bridge Bar. Fish & chips, done well (better than average, hence the 4 stars), with a Smithwick Red Ale. Dessert was a Irish whiskey cake which was very good. Service was very quick and friendly. Not memorable, but...More

The Bridge Bar at The Moorings, Portmagee is open all year round. Great food served all day with traditional music at weekends. Trips to Skellig Michael can be arranged and packages are available from April to September. Cois Cuain gift shop is open from March to January. The Moorings is located in a fishing village with a working harbour, post office, general store, coffee shop, bar, restaurant overlooking Valentia Island. There's nothing more endearing than knowing that some of the Hollywood's biggest movie stars like Mark Hamill and Director J.J Abrams have visited the sleepy village of Portmagee, and even sat in the Bridge Bar local pub where Mark Hamill poured a pint of Guinness behind the bar. The Moorings was home to the pre-production team of the Star Wars VII movie and you can visit the room where all the magic took place and listen to the stories told by the staff.
