Sunday night drinking. Fabulous atmosphere, cheerful locals. Landlord on the ball keeping us safe (tiddled idiots from elsewhere refused entry). A happening place; not for you if you can’t deal with laughter and friendly banter.

Although pretty busy, the pub went out of their way to accommodate 8 of us plus 2 dogs. The beer was excellent and the food was very much a good version of traditional pub grub. We really enjoyed our visit.

There is no Ship Inn car park, but public parks are only a few hundred yards away - on the level (not as someone said up a steep hill!!) and there is on street parking if you are lucky!

The Ship Inn does not have a car park. There is a big car public park about 100m away by the harbour entrance south of "the Den". There are a number of smaller car parks close by. Parking is only a problem during the summer... More
