We prebooked lunch at the marton Arms but there was no need to as besides another couple we were the only ones in the pub. Food very nice, The lady who served us was very pleasant. Hassle paying by credit card as the lady had to phone through to their sister pub in Sedburgh. Not very convenient Outside could have... More

We went there last night (Friday) and had two very tasty and nicely presented burgers accompanied by couple of pints. The staff were pleasant and it was only a 5 minute walk from our accommodation. On that basis we decided to change our plans and return to this establishment tonight to celebrate my birthday but it was a totally different... More

We visited the Martin Arms during our stay at Thornbrook Barn caravan site as we were looking for somewhere to eat the following day with visitors. Regrettably we were informed that they were only doing food on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (presumably too early in the season to staff the kitchen in the week?). We did however stay for a... More

This pub/hotel clearly has scope for improvement both in appearance and staffing at the way that it operates, it clearly could be a little honey pot with its idyllic location. We called in for an early evening meal the first weekend in April and left quite disappointed. The food was quite good, nicely presented but this was after a long... More

I feel it may be a tad unreasonable to leave this review as I think we may have visited at a difficult time, however that was not our fault as it appears the hotel is in the throes of being taken over by new management so I hope this review will not effect the new owners but here goes. I... More

Though the pub food was good there was not the full menu available with special reference to the vegetarian choice. Except for that it was acceptable.

Visited marton on Saturday night. Camping around the corner with friends. Don't know if the people behind the bar were new to the business but need to make people feel welcome (they didn't). Had a couple of starters, nothing to write home about. Main meal we had 3 x steak and ale pie and a homemade naked burger. Sent 1... More

I went to the Marton Arms purely for historical research purposes. But wife and I had lunch whilst I marvelled over the building. Then our burgers arrived and we both marvelled over our burgers and chips. Have to say with no joke or a lie was the best burger I've ever eaten and the hand cut chips were to die... More

As a hospitality manager I have high expectations. I wasn't disappointed. Really lovely food, warm cozy seating area. Would suggest some sort of dress code for staff rather than track suit and beanie hat, but they were so lovely and friendly! Definitely returning!

Marton Arms Hotel Thornton in Craven nr Ingleton My girlfriend and I spent one night in Room 9 on the 5th November. Although the room (double with a single for a child) was very spacious and clean; and the bed very comfy. We felt there was a few things missing ie TV, Hair Dryer and complimentary biscuits on the hospitality... More

Description
We are a traditional Country Inn located 3/4 of a mile from Ingleton and just 6 miles away from Kirkby Lonsdale. We have 10 guest bedrooms, two of which have four poster beds, one twin bedroom and one family bedroom, the rest are double bedrooms. We are ideally located for the those doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks or visiting the White Scar Caves and Ingleton Waterfalls. All of our food is prepared freshly on site to order and we use locally sourced suppliers. For those Ale drinkers we have 8 Cask Ale hand pulls, which during the busy season we try and have all 8 on. During the quieter months this is not always possible. For those winter months we have two roaring log burning stoves in the bar and for the Summer months we have two lovely beer gardens, one out the front of the hotel looking over St Oswalds Church and one out the back looking over open fields. For the best available rates please look at the hotel website.
