We have been to the Travellers Rest on many occasions and found the food to be very good, if somewhat pricey. However it appears things have changed. My wife and I visisted today (28/03/2017) for an an early dinner. We ended up,eating at the Jacobs Well (about 500 metres away) where the food, the welcome and the price were first... More

Moved into the area 4 years ago and tried this place and thought it was terrible. Tried it again recently and it's still terrible. Dark and dingy decor which needs a full makeover. Food is OK but certainly nothing special (nor is it good value). There are so many good food venues in and around the area. Unfortunately, this isn't... More

We've been here many times and have never been disappointed and last night was no exception. I had a fabulous birthday meal with my family. There is always a warm welcome and the service is very good. Overall a great place to visit.

Called here for lunch and was not disappointed, the welcome by the barmaid was warm and genuine. We ordered from the fixed price two course menu but the main course portion was so large we could not manage a sweet, this was not a problem as the main courses we ordered were excellent. The chips in particular were superb, (home... More

We have eaten here a few times and have enjoyed the food. We enjoyed the Fish and Mushy Peas but request you change your chips, they were not good. A bit 'limp', greasy and a tad burnt. Not what we would call chips or double cooked chips. However, everything else was great, service with a smile, nice atmosphere in the... More

As usual fantastic meal, friendly staff, more chips more gravy no problem. Great beers and wines. Not the cheapest but it's a foody pub. You will not get a better steak and ale pie anywhere in the uk

Have eaten here several times recently and have known the landlord and landlady for many years from the White House pub (now houses) Great chefs and good value pub grub. Quick service too.

We went here after hearing several people recommend it, on a Sunday evening. The menu choice is impressive and the drinks were fine however the food wasn't great. We had the battered camembert and the black pudding fritters to start, which were okay. The main meal was unacceptable. I had a roast dinner which compromised of small, burnt roast potatoes,...
