We had a very good meal on a Saturday night, followed by local group who were very talented. The entire staff was great. There was a fireplace burning too.

We were planning a day trip on the West Highland Line to Mallaig and knew what we would want for lunch: seafood, plainly prepared, and cask ale. With those criteria in mind, we researched the possibilities and based on TripAdvisor reviews, and we chose the Chlachain Inn. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed with a big smile... More

The service was good and the food was tasty but we had to wait at least 20 minutes between our starters and our mains. Also the leather seats had tears in them that had been repaired by red tape.

A pleasant pub and we ate in the large bar. Food good, macaroni cheese and fish and chips. Very good staff and welcoming atmosphere.

Scallops in garlic and butter tasted amazing, a little on the small size however the flavours made up for this. The fish and chips were really tasty and good size served with tartare sauce, garden peas and a well dressed salad. The grilled haddock served in a lemon and caper butter was fantastic. Service was great, very attentive and we... More

Visited after reading other reviews and the positive reviews were all correct! The hand dived scallops, mussels, sea bass, all were great. Their ales are recommended as well. If you are doing a day trip out to Mallaig from Glasgow, you will have plenty of time about 2.5 hours to kill so stop by Chlachain Inn for a great meal.

Very friendly welcome here again and plenty to choose from on the menu. We had haggis fritters to start then my friend had haddock and chips (haddock local, fresh). I had the sweet chilli chicken and chips. All the food was tasty and hot and the service excellent.

Cheers to the super friendly barkeep saved the day and made some excellent food and whisky recommendations. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the broth was perfect. Staff was super friendly and you could tel it was where the locals go. Well worth the one block walk back from the Main Street

Really excellent Cullen Skink for dinner and my partner had the amazing Crayfish. They have a variety of hand pumped beers some of which were better than others but I suppose that is a personal preference- I was just glad there was an alternative to Tennants!
